Cathal Mannion
Cathal Mannion (born 22 October 1994) is an Irish hurler who plays for Galway Senior Championship club Ahascragh-Fohenagh and at inter-county level with the Galway senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a left corner-forward. Playing career Ahascragh-Fohenagh Mannion joined the Ahascragh-Fohenagh club at a young age and played in all grades at juvenile and underage levels before eventually joining the club's top adult team. On 21 October 2016, Mannion scored a goal when Ahascragh-Fohenagh defeated Ballinderreen by 2-15 to 0-08 to win the Galway Intermediate Championship. He later scored 2-11 when Ahascragh-Fohenagh won the Connacht Championship on 14 November following a 2-20 to 0-13 defeat of Ballyhaunis in the final. On 18 February 2017, Mannion top scored for Ahascragh-Fohenagh with five points when they suffered a 2-15 to 0-06 defeat by Carrickshock in the All-Ireland final. Galway GAA
The Galway County Boards of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Coiste Chontae na Gaillimhe) or Galway GAA are one of the 32 county boards in Ireland; they are responsible for Gaelic games in County Galway, and for the Galway county teams. Galway is one of the few dual counties in Ireland, competing in a similar level in both hurling and football codes. The 2016–17 All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship was the 13th staging of the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's intermediate inter-county club hurling tournament. The Laois County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Luthchleas Gael Coiste Laois) or Laois GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Laois. The 2014 National Hurling League was the 83rd staging of the National Hurling League. The league began on 15 February. The divisional stage of the competition finished on 23 March. The 2012 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship was the 82nd staging of the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928. The championship began on 21 April 2012 and ended on 30 September 2012. Galway entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Tipperary in the All-Ireland semi-final. On 30 September 2012, Tipperary won the championship following a 2-18 to 1-11 defeat of Dublin in a replay of the All-Ireland final. This was their 19th All-Ireland title and their first title since 2007. It was Tipperary and Dublin's first meeting in an All-Ireland final since 1954.
