Cat Ferguson
Cat Ferguson (born 27 April 2006) is a British racing cyclist, competing across road, cyclo-cross and track racing disciplines. A British junior time trial champion, she won the silver medal in the junior road race at the 2023 UCI World Road Championships. In 2024, she will ride for as a Stagiaire before joining them full time in 2025. Early life From Skipton in Yorkshire, she attended South Craven High School. She started riding mountain bikes as a child with her father on local trails in Yorkshire. From there she graduated to attending the British National School of Racing. She was also a competitive skier, specialising in slalom skiing as a youth. Career 2021 Ferguson won her first national title, becoming U16 National Female Road Circuit Champion, in Redbridge, London in July 2021. The Madison is a relay race event in track cycling, named after the first Madison Square Garden in New York, and known as the "American race" in French (''course à l'américaine'') and as ''Americana'' in Spanish and in Italian. The race The Madison is a race where each team aims to complete more laps than any of the other teams. Riders in each team take turns during the race, handing over to another team member, resting, and then returning to the race. Teams are usually of two riders but occasionally of three. Only one rider of the team is racing at any time, and the replacement rider has to be touched before taking over. The touch can also be a push, often on the shorts, or one rider hurling the other into the race by a hand-sling. How long each rider stays in the race is for the members of each team to decide. 2023 Tour Of Flanders For Women
The 2023 Ronde van Vlaanderen was a Belgian road cycling one-day race that took place on 2 April 2023. It was the 20th edition of Tour of Flanders for Women and the 10th event of the 2023 UCI Women's World Tour. The race was won by Belgian rider Lotte Kopecky of SD Worx for the second year running, after a solo attack with around 20 kilometres remaining. Route The race was held over a course starting and finishing in Oudenaarde, with thirteen climbs and five cobbled sectors. The first half of the route was different to recent editions, heading north from Oudenaarde. The latter half of the race is similar to previous editions, with the last identical to the men's race. That last section took in two cobbled sectors and six climbs - including the famed Koppenberg (600m at 9.7%), Oude Kwaremont (2 km at 4.4%) and Paterberg (400m at 10%) climbs. The 2023 Trofeo Alfredo Binda - Comune di Cittiglio (officially Alfredo Binda - Comune di Cittiglio - Gran Premio Almar) was an Italian road cycling one-day race that took place on 19 March 2023. It was the 47th edition of Trofeo Alfredo Binda and the 7th event of the 2023 UCI Women's World Tour. The race was won by Dutch rider Shirin Van Anrooij of Trek–Segafredo after a solo attack with remaining. Route The race took place on a course. The route started at Maccagno con Pino e Veddasca on the shoreline of Lake Maggiore. The route then turned inland, climbing the Masciago Primo (5.1km at 4.6%) before entering the Cittiglio finishing circuit.
