2023 Tour Of Flanders For Women
The 2023 Ronde van Vlaanderen was a Belgian road cycling one-day race that took place on 2 April 2023. It was the 20th edition of Tour of Flanders for Women and the 10th event of the 2023 UCI Women's World Tour. The race was won by Belgian rider Lotte Kopecky of SD Worx for the second year running, after a solo attack with around 20 kilometres remaining. Route The race was held over a course starting and finishing in Oudenaarde, with thirteen climbs and five cobbled sectors. The first half of the route was different to recent editions, heading north from Oudenaarde. The latter half of the race is similar to previous editions, with the last identical to the men's race. That last section took in two cobbled sectors and six climbs - including the famed Koppenberg (600m at 9.7%), Oude Kwaremont (2 km at 4.4%) and Paterberg (400m at 10%) climbs. 2023 UCI Women's World Tour
The 2023 UCI Women's World Tour is a competition that includes twenty-seven road cycling events throughout the 2023 women's cycling season. It is the eighth edition of the UCI Women's World Tour, the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2016. The competition began with the Women's Tour Down Under from 15 to 17 January, and will finish with the Tour of Guangxi on 17 October. Events The race calendar for the 2023 season was announced in June 2022, with thirty races initially scheduled, up from twenty-three that were held in 2022. The calendar features several new races including the Women's Tour Down Under, Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and La Vuelta Femenina. Dwars Door Vlaanderen
Dwars door Vlaanderen ''( en, Across Flanders)'' is a semi-classic road bicycle race in Belgium, held annually since 1945. The race starts in Roeselare and finishes in Waregem, both in West Flanders. Since 2017 the event is included in the UCI World Tour. Held in late March, the event is part of the ''Flemish Cycling Week'', which also includes E3 Harelbeke, Gent–Wevelgem and the Tour of Flanders. Traditionally Dwars door Vlaanderen was held four days after Milan–San Remo and a week and a half before the Tour of Flanders. As from 2018 the race moved up one week on the international calendar and is now contested on the Wednesday before the Tour of Flanders, Flanders' foremost cycling classic, held on Sunday. Katarzyna "Kasia" Niewiadoma (born 29 September 1994) is a Polish racing cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Among her wins are the Amstel Gold Race, the Trofeo Alfredo Binda and the stage race The Women's Tour. She is a former national champion in both the road race and time trial events. In July 2022, she was named as one of the pre-race favourites for the first edition of the Tour de France Femmes, and eventually finished third overall. She rode for in the women's team time trial event at the 2018 UCI Road World Championships. Pfeiffer Zara Georgi (born 27 September 2000) is an English professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . She won the 2021 British National Road Race Championships. The 2023 Classic Brugge–De Panne was a Belgian road cycling one-day race that took place on 23 March 2023. It was the 6th edition of Classic Brugge–De Panne and the 8th event of the 2023 UCI Women's World Tour. The race was won by British rider Pfeiffer Georgi of after a solo attack with around 7 kilometres to go. Summary The race is considered to be a "sprinters classic", and four of the five editions of the race have been won in a bunch sprint. Sprinters including defending champion Elisa Balsamo, Lorena Wiebes, Chiara Consonni and Charlotte Kool were thought to be contenders for the win. With a route similar to the previous editions of the race, the long race started in Bruges and finished in De Panne, after two laps of a finishing circuit.
