Castelvetro Piacentino
Castelvetro Piacentino, also known as Castelvetro ( Piacentino: ; Cremonese: ), is a town and ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Piacenza in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about northwest of Bologna and about east of Piacenza. Geography The municipality is located in the northwestern edge of its province, and is separated from Cremona, and Lombardy, by the river Po. the other bordering municipalities are Gerre de' Caprioli, Monticelli d'Ongina, Spinadesco, Stagno Lombardo and Villanova sull'Arda. It counts the hamlets (''frazioni'') of Croce Santo Spirito, Mezzano Chitantolo, San Giuliano Piacentino and San Pietro in Corte (also known as San Pedretto). Piacenza–Cremona Railway
The Piacenza–Cremona railway is a railway line in Italy. On 12 December 2013 passenger service on the line was terminated, and was substituted by 2 buses for the connection between Piacenza and Cremona. Since then, the line is only used by freight trains. Cremona–Fidenza Railway
The Cremona–Fidenza railway is a railway line in Italy. History The line was opened on 12 September 1906 and operated by the private railway company Società Italiana Ferrovie e Tramvie (SIFT). Later it came to the state company Ferrovie dello Stato (FS). It was electrified at the end of the 1970s, in order to provide an alternative route (via Treviglio, Cremona and Fidenza) for the freight trains from Milan to the south. A ''frazione'' (plural: ) is a type of subdivision of a ''comune'' (municipality) in Italy, often a small village or hamlet outside the main town.
