Bernardo Castello
Bernardo Castello (or Castelli) (1557–1629) was an Italian painter of the late-Mannerist style, active mainly in Genoa and Liguria. He is mainly known as a portrait painter, portrait and historical painter.He needs to be distinguished from Giovanni Battista Castello, (called ''Il bergamasco''), who was an elder friend of and collaborator with Luca Cambiaso. Biography Bernardo Castello was born in , now a quarter of Genoa. He was apprenticed under Andrea Semino and Luca Cambiaso, then travelled throughout Italy, meeting other painters and creating his own particular style. During his career he painted many works and was appreciated by famous poets with whom he had friendships. Amongst these were Gabriello Chiabrera and Torquato Tasso, and Castello was the illustrator for ''Jerusalem Delivered'' by Tasso, published in 1590 (and also for a further edition, published in 1617). Dario Castello
Dario Castello (Venice, bapt. 19 October 1602 - Venice 2 July 1631) was an Italian composer and violinist from the early Baroque period who worked and published in Venice. As a composer, he was a late member of the Venetian School and had a role in the transformation of the instrumental canzona into the sonata. Biographical details Dario Domenico Castello was born in Venice, where he was baptised on 19 October 1602. The title page of the 1621 edition of the first volume of the ''Sonate Concertate in stil moderno'' records him as ''Capo di Compagnia de Musichi d'Instrumenti da fiato in Venetia,'' indicating that he led a Venetian company of '' piffari'', a band that could include sackbuts, cornetts, shawms, but also violins and viols. On 19 November 1624 he was appointed «sonador di violin» (violin player) of the St. Mark's music chapel, at the time headed by Claudio Monteverdi. Giovanni Battista Castello (1500 or 1509–1569 or 1579) was an Italian historical Painting, painter. Born in Gandino near Bergamo, he is ordinarily termed Il Bergamasco to distinguish him from the other painter (of miniatures) with the identical name from school of Genoa. John Castello
John Anderson Castello (1802, British Guiana-1877, Jamaica) was a Guyanese child actor and journalist who established his reputation in Jamaica, whither he moved as a teenager. Following Master Betty, known as "the Young Roscius", Castello was called "the West Indian Roscius". He performed in Spanish Town in October 1816 at the age of thirteen. Castello remained popular with Jamaican theatre-goers until 1818, when he reached puberty and his voice broke. Theatrical career William Adamson, who managed his own theatre company had arrived from Barbados, produced John Home's '' Douglas or the Noble Shepherd'' and cast Castello in the role of the Young Norval. Marie Castello (May 25, 1915 – June 27, 2008), who was known as Madam Marie, was an American fortune teller and psychic reader who worked on the Asbury Park, New Jersey, boardwalk from 1932 until 2008. Madam Marie was the longest running tenant on the Asbury Park boardwalk. Castello was a fixture in Asbury Park for decades, telling fortunes on and off at her tiny booth on the boardwalk which is nicknamed The Temple of Knowledge. She read the fortunes of celebrities ranging from Judy Garland to Bruce Springsteen. Castello reportedly told Springsteen that he would be a huge success. Springsteen later said that she told all her musician clients the same thing. Sebastian Castellio (also Sébastien Châteillon, Châtaillon, Castellión, and Castello; 1515 – 29 December 1563) was a French preacher and theologian; and one of the first Reformed Christian proponents of religious toleration, freedom of conscience and thought. Introduction Castellio was born in 1515 at Saint-Martin-du-Frêne in the village of Bresse of Dauphiné, the country bordering Switzerland, France, and Savoy. Under the Savoyard rule his family called itself Chateillon, Chatillon, or Chataillon.
