Caspar Stephansen
Caspar Stephansen (23 July 1923 – 11 April 1996) was a Norwegian civil servant. He was born in Kragerø. During the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany he fled to Sweden and took part in the exiled police corps Rikspolitikorpset. He studied law between 1945 and 1950, when he graduated with the cand.jur. degree. He was hired in the Directorate of Rationalisation, then in the Ministry of Defence in 1952. Erik Himle
Erik Himle (10 April 1924 – 30 July 2008) was a Norwegian civil servant and politician for the Labour Party. Himle graduated with the cand.oecon. degree in 1948, and from the NATO Defence College in 1957. He was never elected as a politician, but worked himself upwards as a civil servant in Norwegian government ministries. During the third cabinet Gerhardsen he became state secretary to the Minister of Defense 1958–1961 and to the Minister of Transport 1962–1963. In the fourth cabinet Gerhardsen he was appointed Minister of Trade and Shipping 1963–1964 and Minister of Transport 1964–1965. His last period as a state secretary was in the Office of the Prime Minister during the first cabinet Bratteli from 1971 to 1972. He continued as the permanent under-secretary of state in the Ministry of Defence 1967–1971 and 1973–1978 and in the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy 1978–1988. Åge Danielsen (born 22 June 1942) is a Norwegian civil servant. He was born in Narvik, and holds the cand.oecon. degree in economics. He has been chief administrative officer for Nordland County Municipality from 1980 to 1989, then permanent under-secretary of state in the Ministry of Defence from 1989 to 1995. From 1995 to 1997 he was the director of Statskonsult. He left in 1997 to become director of Rikshospitalet, and Tore Lorentzen served as acting director from February until Jon Blaalid was hired as new director in the summer. Kragerø
Kragerø () is a List of cities in Norway, town and Municipalities of Norway, municipality in Vestfold og Telemark Counties of Norway, county, Norway. It is part of the Districts of Norway, traditional regions of Grenland and the smaller Vestmar. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Kragerø. The city of Kragerø lies furthest south in the county of Telemark. NATO Defence College
NATO Defense College (NDC) is the international military college for North Atlantic Treaty Organization countries. It is located in Rome, Italy. History The idea of a NATO Defense College originated with General Dwight D. Eisenhower, the first Supreme Allied Commander Europe, who identified very early on the need for a new international institution with a unique education mission. On 19 November 1951, the NATO Defense College opened its doors to Course 1 in Paris. In 1966, France withdrew from the Alliance's integrated military structure and the College moved to the EUR quartier of Rome, where it continues to fulfil its mission. On 10 September 1999, the new College building, twice the size of the old one, was inaugurated in Cecchignola Città Militare, a military zone 2 km from the former site.
