Montreal Impact (1992–2011)
The Montreal Impact (french: Impact de Montréal) was a Canadian professional association football, soccer club based in Montreal, Quebec. Founded in 1993, the team played in the United Soccer League. Later, the Impact played in the North American Soccer League (2011), North American Soccer League (NASL), the second tier of the American Soccer Pyramid until the 2011 season. The owner Joey Saputo now operates the Major League Soccer, MLS team CF Montréal, which also carried the Montreal Impact name until 2021. Vincent Ursini (born September 19, 1960) is a Canadian accountant, former soccer executive, and stage actor. Originally a soccer player Ursini drifted to the administrative duties of soccer. Initially serving at the regional association levels he ultimately was elected to the Ontario Soccer Association board of directors. During his tenure with the Ontario Soccer Association he became involved with the Canadian Professional Soccer League (CPSL). In 2000, he was named the chairman/president of the CPSL, and firmly established the league within the Ontario soccer structure. In 2005, he was elected to the Canadian Soccer Association board of directors as the director of finance. He returned to the CPSL in 2011 under the re-branded name Canadian Soccer League (CSL) under the same capacity of chairman/president. Donald Scott Howson (born April 9, 1960) is a Canadian ice hockey executive and former player. He was formerly the general manager of the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL). He played 18 games in the NHL with the New York Islanders between the 1984–85 and 1985–86 seasons. The rest of his playing career, which lasted from 1981 to 1986, was spent in the minor leagues. He later turned to coaching and managing, working for several years in the American Hockey League before moving to the NHL. The Global T20 Canada is a 20-over cricket tournament played in Canada. The first edition of the tournament took place during June and July 2018 with six teams competing. Each team featured four local Canadian cricketers in each squad, along with international players. The inaugural tournament in 2018 took place at the Maple Leaf Cricket Club in King City, Ontario, while the 2019 tournament took place at the CAA Centre in Brampton, Ontario.
