Cary Franklin
Cary Franklin (born September 23, 1977) is an American former professional tennis player. Franklin is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and while growing up had Paul Annacone as a mentor. Annacone shared a home with the Franklin family during him time as a professional tennis player. A tall left-hander, Franklin played collegiate tennis under Craig Tiley at the University of Illinois, where he had both individual and team success. The team won the Big Ten Conference title in each of his four seasons from 1997 to 2000. 2000 US Open – Men's Doubles
Lleyton Hewitt and Max Mirnyi defeated Ellis Ferreira and Rick Leach in the final, 6–4, 5–7, 7–6 to win the men's doubles tennis title at the 2000 US Open. It was their maiden major title. Alex O'Brien and Sébastien Lareau were the defending champions but chose not to participate with each other. Sébastien partnered with Daniel Nestor, while Alex partnered with Jared Palmer. Both new pairings lost to Hewitt and Mirnyi, in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively. This marked the last major appearance of former world No. 1 and 17-time major champion Mark Woodforde, and thus the last major appearance of the Woodies; they were defeated in the second round by Hewitt and Mirnyi. Gareth Williams (tennis)
Gareth Williams (born 27 August 1975) is a former professional tennis player from South Africa. Biography Born in Pretoria, Williams was a doubles specialist, who had success as a junior in 1993 when he made three junior grand slam finals. After finishing runner-up at both the French Open and Wimbledon, he and Neville Godwin made a third successive final at the 1993 US Open, defeating the Australian pairing of Ben Ellwood and James Sekulov. He and Godwin also competed in several ATP Tour events, including Durban in 1993, where they made the quarter-finals. In the mid-1990s he left the professional circuit to play collegiate tennis in the United States at the University of Tulsa (UT). Graduating from UT with a psychology degree, he returned to the tour and in 2000 reached his best ranking of 179 in the world for doubles. James Shortall
James Shortall (born 25 December 1979) is a New Zealand former professional tennis player. Born and raised in Feilding, Shortall played collegiate tennis in the United States for the University of Mississippi. In 2000 he and teammate Vikrant Chadha made the doubles semi-finals of the NCAA championships. Shortall represented the New Zealand Davis Cup team between 2000 and 2003. Harsh Mankad
Harsh Mankad (born 10 November 1979) is a former world ranked ATP Professional tennis player from India. He played Davis Cup for India between 2001–2010 and was the No. 1 singles player on the team for several of those years. Personal life He is the grandson of world-renowned cricketer Vinoo Mankad, and the son of Indian Test cricketer and Mumbai captain Ashok Mankad and pioneer women's tennis player Nirupama Vasant. Lachine () is a borough (''arrondissement'') within the city of Montreal on the Island of Montreal in southwestern Quebec, Canada. It was an autonomous city until the municipal mergers in 2002.
