Carnation (song)
, also known by its French title L'œillet ("The Carnation" in English), is a song by Japanese musician Ringo Sheena. It was released on November 2, 2011, two years after her previous solo single " Ariamaru Tomi" (2009), during a period where she primarily worked with her band Tokyo Jihen. The song was the eponymous theme song for the morning Asadora drama ''Carnation'', starring Machiko Ono. Background and development In 2009, Sheena released the solo single " Ariamaru Tomi" and the album '' Sanmon Gossip'' after mostly focusing on her band, Tokyo Jihen. , known by her stage name , is a Japanese singer, songwriter and musician. She is also the founder and lead vocalist of the band Tokyo Jihen. She describes herself as "". She was ranked number 36 in a list of Japan's top 100 musicians compiled by HMV in 2003. Early life Sheena was born with an esophageal atresia in which the esophagus narrows as it approaches the stomach. Treatment of this involved several operations, at least one of which required her right shoulder blade to be cut open. Midori Takada ( ja, 高田みどり) (born December 21, 1951) is a Japanese composer and percussionist. She has been described as a pioneer of ambient music, ambient and minimalism (music), minimalist music. Early career and Mkwaju Ensemble Takada graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts and began her musical career as a percussionist with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Berlin RIAS Symphonie-Orchester in the mid-1970s.
