Carlos Terán Díaz (born 24 September 2000) is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as a defender for Major League Soccer club Chicago Fire. Club career Born in Turbo, Colombia, Terán began his career with Categoría Primera A club Envigado. Turbo, Colombia
Turbo is a port city in Antioquia Department, Colombia. It is located on the coast of Gulf of Urabá, 340 km north of Medellín (the department capital and second largest city). This port city is the capital of the Urabá region of Antioquia. The place where Turbo is today was known as Pisisí, but by 1741 people were already talking about Turbo. By a decree on May 11, 1839, the central government spent one thousand pesos for military service barracks in Turbo. In 1840, the republican president assigned one thousand fanegas of uncultivated lands for the new population. It was established as a municipality in 1847. Turbo lies near the southeastern tip of the Darién Gap and is the northern terminus of the main route of the Pan-American Highway in South America. The 2023 Chicago Fire FC season was the club's 28th year of existence, as well as their 26th in Major League Soccer. On May 8, 2023, the Fire formally fired their head coach Ezra Hendrickson and assistant coach Junior Gonzalez after the club went 2-3-5 through their first ten games. Assistant coach Frank Klopas was named interim coach for the third time in his career, following stints in 2011 (which led to him retaining the job for two more years) and 2021. 2021 Major League Soccer Season
The 2021 Major League Soccer season was the 26th season of Major League Soccer (MLS), the top professional soccer league in the United States and Canada. The 2021 season included the addition of Austin FC as an expansion club, which took the league to 27 teams. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the season was originally scheduled to begin on April 3, as opposed to the normal late February or early March start. This was later pushed back to April 16, the latest ever start to an MLS season, due to negotiations with the MLS Players Association for a new collective bargaining agreement.
