Carlos Rivas (born, Oscar Weber, February 16, 1925 – June 16, 2003) was an American actor, best remembered as Lun Tha in ''The King and I'' (1956), Dirty Bob in ''True Grit'' (1969), and Hernandez in ''Topaz'' (1969). Early life Rivas was born in El Paso, Texas, to a German father and Mexican mother. English was his first language and he was also known as Oscar von Weber and Karl Weber. Career Carlos Rivas was discovered in a bar in Mexico. He began his career in Mexican and Argentinian westerns, though his Argentinian films were actually filmed in Mexico. His American debut was in ''The King and I'' (1956) opposite Rita Moreno. After this career highlight, he was quickly reduced to supporting roles. That same year of 1956 he appeared as Johnny Bravo in the TV western ''Cheyenne'' in the episode titled "Johnny Bravo," and in the 1961 episode of ''Maverick'' titled "Poker Face" starring Jack Kelly. Carlos Humberto Rivas Torres (born 24 May 1953) is a Chilean retired professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Rivas was a midfielder for Colo-Colo in 136 official games over five seasons, and he scored 40 goals during that time. Carlos Adan Rivas Godoy (born 3 September 1985) is a Canadian former soccer player who played as a midfielder in the Chilean Primera División, Primera B de Chile, and the Canadian Soccer League. Carlos Augusto Rivas Murillo (born 15 April 1994) is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Juan Aurich. Club career Once Caldas Born in Jamundí, Rivas began his career in the youth ranks of local club Jamundí F. C.. In 2009 he joined the youth ranks of América de Cali, but only stayed at the club for six months. After leaving América he joined Once Caldas.
