Carlos Alberto Morban Rivera (born April 25, 1982 in Santo Domingo) is a professional basketball player from the Dominican Republic. He is a 6 ft 2 in (1.88 m) and 190 lb (93 kg) Guard (basketball), guard who last played professionally for Mexican team Lobos Grises UAD. High school In 2000, Carlos Morban led Miami Christian School to a state championship. College career Morban was a three-year starter at Florida International University. In 80 games over three seasons, he averaged 9.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. His best season was his junior year (2003–04), when he averaged 12 points per game for the Golden Panthers. He left after his junior season to begin his professional career. 2007 FIBA CBC Championship
Qualifying for the 2009 FIBA Americas Championship the basketball championships for the Americas (North America, Central America, the Caribbean and South America) began on August 12, 2007 at the FIBA CBC Championship for national teams from the Caribbean. Three teams qualified from that tournament to the 2008 Centrobasket, from which four automatic berths are available. South American teams qualified via the 2008 South American Basketball Championship, held at Puerto Montt, Chile. North American teams (Canada and the United States) automatically qualify to the championship, which will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Centrobasket is a FIBA-sponsored international basketball tournament where national teams from Central America and the Caribbean participate. These countries make up the Central American and Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CONCENCABA). The top three or four Women's National teams typically earn berths to the FIBA Women's AmeriCup, from which they can qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup or Summer Olympics. Teams qualify for these tournaments by finishing high (usually first or second place) in the previous Centrobasket or by placing high at the FIBA COCABA Championship for Mexico and the seven Central American countries and at the FIBA CBC Championship for the 23 Caribbean countries.
