Carlos Meléndez Ramírez (February 1, 1861 – October 8, 1919) was born in San Salvador, El Salvador to Rafael Meléndez and Mercedes Ramírez (daughter of Norberto Ramírez). He was President of El Salvador from February 9, 1913 to August 29, 1914 and again from March 1, 1915 to December 21, 1918. He was the older brother of president Jorge Meléndez. Carlos Antonio Meléndez Flores (born 12 November 1958 in San Salvador, El Salvador) is a retired Salvadoran football (soccer) player. Club career Nicknamed ''El Cacho'', Meléndez, won the Salvadoran league title with Atlético Marte in 1985. In 1980, he played in Costa Rica for Asociación Deportiva San Miguel. Carlos Meléndez (singer)
Carlos Javier Meléndez Sauri (born 10 April 1965 in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico, Hato Rey, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican architect and singer who is a former member of Menudo (band), Menudo. Meléndez is a cousin of band creator Edgardo Diaz, who had success as director of La Pandilla in Spain and who admired the success obtained by The Jackson 5 in the United States. Carlos Meléndez and his brothers, Óscar Meléndez, Oscar and Ricky Meléndez, Ricky, wore curly hair, a style which was popular during the 1970s. In 1977, Diaz created Menudo, asking Carlos and his brothers to become band members, along with Fernando and Nefty Sallaberry, who are also brothers. Carlos Meléndez lasted in Menudo until mid 1980, barely missing out on the group's golden era. The only Meléndez brother to participate during Menudo's era of worldwide fame was Ricky. Carlos Meléndez Latorre (born 26 January 1957) is a Spanish former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. After making over 100 lower-division appearances in his early career, he spent a decade as a squad member with La Liga clubs Athletic Bilbao and RCD Espanyol but was rarely selected, instead becoming known as a dependable backup to the regular starters who missed very few matches; he was easily recognisable in his habitual place on the substitutes' bench due to his large moustache. Career Raised in Getxo, Meléndez began his career locally at Arenas Club, where his coach at youth level was Javier Clemente.
