Carlos Meléndez (footballer, Born 1957)
Carlos Meléndez Latorre (born 26 January 1957) is a Spanish former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. After making over 100 lower-division appearances in his early career, he spent a decade as a squad member with La Liga clubs Athletic Bilbao and RCD Espanyol but was rarely selected, instead becoming known as a dependable backup to the regular starters who missed very few matches; he was easily recognisable in his habitual place on the substitutes' bench due to his large moustache. Career Raised in Getxo, Meléndez began his career locally at Arenas Club, where his coach at youth level was Javier Clemente. He quickly moved on to CD Basconia (signed by Clemente) then to Athletic Bilbao, where he became one of several contenders for the goalkeeping position held for many years by veteran José Ángel Iribar; initially the older Peio Agirreoa was ahead of Meléndez in the 'queue' to start, then the younger Andoni Cedrún spent the majority of the 1980–81 season as the regu ...

Copa Del Rey
The Campeonato de España–Copa de Su Majestad el Rey, commonly known as Copa del Rey or simply La Copa and formerly known as Copa del Presidente de la República (1932–36) and Copa del Generalísimo (1939–76), is an annual knockout football competition in Spanish football, organized by the Royal Spanish Football Federation. The competition was founded in 1903, thus making it the oldest Spanish football competition played at a national level. It is considered one of the most prestigious ''national cup'' trophies in the world. Copa del Rey winners qualify for the following season's UEFA Europa League. If they have already qualified for Europe through their league position, then the Europa League spot is given to the highest-placed team in the league who has not yet qualified (until 2014 this place was awarded to the Copa runners-up, unless they too had already qualified via the league). Barcelona is the most successful club in the competition, having won 31 Spanish Cup t ...

CD Málaga
Club Deportivo Málaga was a Spanish football club based in Málaga, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. It played twenty seasons in La Liga, before being dissolved in 1992. History Origins The first football club in Málaga was established in 1904, with the formation of the ''Málaga Foot-Ball Club''. It was nothing more than a society intended to promote football, a new sport in the city, carried from the United Kingdom. Its first rivals were small teams formed by crews of foreign ships arriving in the local harbor. In 1907, further attempts of popularizing football were performed by Málaga FC. 1912 saw the arrival of a rival club, ''FC Malagueño'', and the establishment of a great rivalry with Málaga FC, which had merged with other minor clubs like Málaga Racing. In 1927, Málaga FC became the ''Real Málaga FC'' after they were granted royal patronage by Alfonso XIII. During the 1929–30 season both Real Málaga FC and FC Malagueño clubs became founding membe ...

Penalty Shootout
The penalty shootout is a method of determining a winner in sports matches that would have otherwise been drawn or tied. The rules for penalty shootouts vary between sports and even different competitions; however, the usual form is similar to penalty shots in that a single player takes one shot on goal from a specified spot, the only defender being the goalkeeper. If the result is still tied, the shootout usually continues on a "goal-for-goal" basis, with the teams taking shots alternately, and the one that scores a goal unmatched by the other team is declared the winner. This may continue until every player has taken a shot, after which players may take extra shots, until the tie is broken, and is also known as "sudden death". Rationale A penalty shootout is normally used only in "no ties allowed" situations (for example, a tournament where the losers must be eliminated) and where other methods such as extra time, sudden death, and/or the away goal rule have failed to determine ...
