Carlos Ferreyros
Carlos Ferreyros y Senra was a Peruvian naval captain and politician. He was the commander of the BAP '' Pilcomayo'' during the War of the Pacific, commanding it before its capture. He was also a Senator of the Department of Huánuco from July 28, 1907, to February 6, 1910, where he died in office. Biography Carlos was the son of Manuel Bartolomé Ferreyros, a politician and diplomat and María Josefa Basilia de Senra y Echevarría. The Capture of the corvette Pilcomayo was a battle of the Naval campaign of the War of the Pacific. Manuel Ferreyros
Manuel José Ferreyros y Senra (Lima, September 2, 1833 — Puno, January 13, 1876) was a Peruvian naval officer and politician. Ferreyros was a friend and comrade-in-arms of Miguel Grau, Aurelio García and Lizardo Montero, all of whom were known as the Four Aces of the Peruvian Navy. Unlike his comrades-in-arms, Ferreyros did not participate in the War of the Pacific, as he died prematurely, three years before the conflict broke out. His younger brother, Captain Carlos Ferreyros, fought in the war, commanding the ''Pilcomayo'' gunboat. The corvette ''Magallanes'' was ordered by the Chilean government after the disastrous consequences of the War against Spain in 1864-1866 and the rising border conflict with the neighboring countries at the end of the 1870s. Manuel Justo Pardo y Lavalle (August 9, 1834 – November 16, 1878) was a Peruvian politician who served as the 31st President of Peru. He was the first civilian President in Peru's history. Aurelio García y García (November 28, 1836 — June 25, 1888) was a Peruvian marine, diplomat and politician. García was a friend and comrade-in-arms of Miguel Grau, Manuel Ferreyros and Lizardo Montero, all of whom were known as the Four Aces of the Peruvian Navy. He was also elected Mayor of Lima in 1877.
