Carlo Tognoli
Carlo Tognoli (16 June 1938 – 5 March 2021) was an Italian politician, who was Mayor of Milan and minister of the Italian Republic. Biography Tognoli was born at Milan and joined the Italian Socialist Party (Partito Socialista Italiano, or PSI) in 1958. Elected into the Italian Chamber of Deputies, he was also Mayor of Milan from 1976 to 1986. In 1984–1987 he was also elected to the European Parliament; in the latter year he was appointed Minister of Problems of Urban Areas in the cabinets of Giovanni Goria and Ciriaco De Mita. Later he was Minister of Tourism and Spectacles in the 6th and 7th Giulio Andreotti governments. From 1981 to 1992 he was a journalist and director of the monthly newspaper Critica Sociale. In 1992 he was involved in the Tangentopoli scandal together with hisl party colleague Paolo Pillitteri (who had been his successor as mayor of Milan). The Minister of Tourism (Italian: ''Ministro del Turismo''), whose official name is Minister for the Coordination of Initiatives in the Tourism Sector, is one of the positions in the Cabinet of Italy, Italian government. The office, known as Minister of Tourism and Entertainment and established in 1959, was later abolished in 1993 after a referendum. The Chamber of Deputies ( it, Camera dei deputati) is the lower house of the bicameral Italian Parliament (the other being the Senate of the Republic). The two houses together form a perfect bicameral system, meaning they perform identical functions, but do so separately. The COVID-19 pandemic in Italy is part of the ongoing pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 () caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (). The virus was first confirmed to have spread to Italy on 31 January 2020, when two Chinese tourists in Rome tested positive for the virus. One week later an Italian man repatriated to Italy from the city of Wuhan, China, was hospitalized and confirmed as the third case in Italy. Enrico Cuccia (24 November 1907 – 23 June 2000) was an Italian banker, who was the first and long-term president of Mediobanca SpA, the Milan-based investment bank, and a significant figure in the history of capitalism in Italy. Early life and education Cuccia was born into a Sicilian people, Sicilian family in Rome on 24 November 1907. He was of Arbereshe people, Arbereshe origin. His family was Catholicism, Catholic.
