Carlo De Mejo
Carlo De Mejo (17 January 1945 – 18 December 2015) was an Italian actor. Life and career Born in Rome, De Mejo was the eldest son of jazz composer Oscar De Mejo and actress Alida Valli. After a few minor roles, he had his breakout with the role of a male prostitute in Pier Paolo Pasolini's ''Teorema''. In 1970 he played Claude in Giuseppe Patroni Griffi and Victor Spinetti's Italian adaptation of the stage musical '' Hair''. In the following years, he became very active as a character actor in genre films, especially Lucio Fulci's cult horror films. ''Women's Prison Massacre'' ( it, Blade Violent) is a 1983 film directed by Bruno Mattei and starring Laura Gemser, Gabriele Tinti, Carlo De Mejo, Lorraine De Selle, and Franca Stoppi. Plot Emanuelle (Laura Gemser) is sent to a violent women's prison. While she is in prison, she comes into confrontation with the "top dog" inmate Albina (Ursula Flores), ending in a series of fights. Albina gets the worse of it, including a broken arm, a knife in her leg, and her wig pulled off. Following a series of cat fights and arguments, the women's lives are interrupted by the arrival of four male death row inmates led by "Crazy Boy" Henderson ( Gabriele Tinti), who break into the prison. ''Manhattan Baby'' is a 1982 Italian horror film directed by Lucio Fulci, and starring Christopher Connelly and Carlo De Mejo. The film begins in Egypt, where Susie, the daughter of archaeologist George Hacker, is given a mysterious talisman by an old woman. Meanwhile, her father investigates a tomb, and is blinded by a blue light. George and Susie return to New York, where George gradually recovers his vision. Strange deaths begin to occur around the Hackers, seemingly caused by the amulet. ''Manhattan Baby'' was shot in New York and Egypt in March and April 1982. It was originally planned to be one of Fulci's more expensive films, but its budget was cut in half during production.
