Carlie Kotyza-Witthuhn
Carlie Kotyza-Witthuhn (born 1986/1987) is an American politician and member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), she represents District 48B in the southwestern Twin Cities metropolitan area. Early life, education, and career Kotyza-Witthuhn attended the University of St. Thomas, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in entrepreneurship. She is an operations analyst. Minnesota House of Representatives Kotyza-Witthuhn was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2018, defeating Republican incumbent Jenifer Loon. Jenifer Loon
Jenifer W. Loon (born September 17, 1963) is an American politician who was a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2009 to 2019. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota, she represented District 48B, which was primarily in Eden Prairie, located in southwestern Hennepin County in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Loon is also a legislative policy consultant. Early life, education, and career Loon grew up on a dairy farm in rural South Dakota. While in high school, she was a page in the South Dakota House of Representatives, where her uncle was a member. Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party
The Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL) is the Minnesota affiliate of the U.S. Democratic Party. As of 2022, it controls four of Minnesota's eight U.S. House seats, both of its U.S. Senate seats, the Minnesota House of Representatives, and all other statewide offices, including the governorship. Beginning in 2023, the party will also control the Minnesota Senate, giving it full control of state government.
