College Ward or Ward 8 (French: ''Quartier Collège'') is a city ward (politics), ward in Ottawa, Canada's west end. The ward covers the neighbourhoods of Bells Corners, Ontario, Bells Corners, Qualicum (Nepean), Qualicum, Graham Park, Leslie Park, Redwood (Ottawa), Redwood, Kenson Park, Parkway Park, Bel-Air Park, Bel-Air Heights, Braemar Park, Copeland Park (Ottawa), Copeland Park, Briargreen, Centrepointe, Navaho (Nepean), Navaho, City View (Nepean), City View, Ryan Farm, Meadowlands (Nepean), Meadowlands and Crestview (Nepean), Crestview. Prior to the 2006 election, College Ward was known as Baseline Ward, and didn't include Bells Corners. It was incorporated into the city with amalgamation in 2001 (elections were held in 2000). Redwood (Ottawa)
Redwood is a neighbourhood located in Ottawa's west end. The boundaries of the neighbourhood is Greenbank Road to the east, Baseline Road to the south, Morrison Drive (old Ottawa- Nepean border line) to the west and Highway 417 to the north. Its sister neighbourhoods are Qualicum, Leslie Park, and Queensway Terrace. Residential areas and community housing The majority of residents live in apartments and townhouses located on the east and west ends of the neighbourhood. Detached homes are closer to west side along Morrison Drive. The development in the area started in the 1960s and continued throughout the 1970s and 1980s. There are many strips of townhouses on Baseline Road and Draper Avenue. Draper Avenue also runs into the Qualicum community. The Qualicum Woods housing development was retrofitted and refurbished over the past several years with hundreds of row houses improving the aesthetic of the area. Crestview (Nepean)
Crestview is a neighbourhood in College Ward in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It was originally part of the City of Nepean before amalgamation with Ottawa in 2001. Together with the neighbouring community of Meadowlands, the area is served by the Crestview-Meadowlands Community Association. The community association's boundaries are Meadowlands Drive on the north, Merivale Road on the east, the CN Railtracks on the south and Woodroffe Avenue on the west.https://crestviewmeadowlandscommunityassociation.weebly.com/ Most of the homes are bungalows which were popular in the 1950s and early 1960s. City View (also known as St. Claire Gardens) is a neighbourhood in College Ward in the west end of the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located within the former city of Nepean. Most of the homes in it were built from the 1930s to the 1960s. By the 2000s some of the home were demolished and built into new ones; and they still are today. The area existed as a police village from 1954 to 1974.
