Carl Van Dockum
Carl Edvard van Dockum was a Danish admiral and minister that was notable for his participation in the Battle of Jasmund in the Second Schleswig War. Biography Carl Edvard van Dockum was the son of Vice Admiral and his wife. He began as early as 1815 at the ', which he completed as a second lieutenant with HM the King's Honorary Saber in 1821. After a voyage to the West Indies, van Dockum went, with a passport, into French service, where he excelled in several battles such as the Battle of Navarino, and ended up being decorated with the Legion of Honor. At the end of 1829 he returned to Denmark, where he had been promoted to first lieutenant the year before. Henrik Olrik
Ole Henrik Benedictus Olrik (24 May 1830 – 2 January 1890) was a Danish painter, sculptor and applied artist. Early life and education Henrik Olrik, born in Copenhagen, was son of customs inspector Henrik Johan Ludvig Olrik and Benedicte Martinette (née Heiberg). Olrik was admitted to Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1844 where he initially studied sculpture under Herman Wilhelm Bissen, while in the same time working at the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Factory, where he made reduced copies of Bertel Thorvaldsen works. He graduated from the Academy in 1851 after winning two silver medals for his works in 1848 and 1851. In 1854 Olrik went to Paris pursue his painting interests. Frederik Christian Lund
Frederik Christian Lund (14 February 1826, Copenhagen – 31 October 1901, Frederiksberg), commonly known as F. C. Lund, was a Danish genre and history painter. He is also remembered for his illustrations of traditional Danish regional costumes in the mid 19th century. Biography Lund attended the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1838 to 1845, his course of study being interrupted by his service as a volunteer in the First Schleswig War (1848–1851). While still at the Academy, he helped with decorating the interior of the Thorvaldsen Museum as well as with Jørgen Sonne's frieze on the building's facade. Heinrich August Georg Schiøtt (17 December 1823 – 25 June 1895) was a Danish portrait painter. Biography August Schiøtt was born in Helsingør, Denmark. He was the son of Heinrich Erpecum Schiøtt and Anna Sophie Marie Fleron. His father was a customs official. After his confirmation, he was sent to school in Copenhagen where he later entered the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and had an undistinguished academic record. For a short time, he was a private student of Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg. His first portrait (of a child) was created in 1844, two years before his graduation. After that, he painted six to eight portraits every year. A chamberlain (Medieval Latin: ''cambellanus'' or ''cambrerius'', with charge of treasury ''camerarius'') is a senior royal official in charge of managing a royal household.
