Carl Lauri was a Democratic member of the Wisconsin Senate, representing the 25th district from 1955 to 1963. Wisconsin Senate, District 25
The 25th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in northwest Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Iron, Price, and Washburn counties, and part of northern Sawyer County. The 25th Senate district is the largest Wisconsin Senate district by area; mostly rural, the largest population center is the city of Superior. The district also includes the Bad River and Lac du Flambeau Indian reservations, and most of the Chequamegon–Nicolet National Forest. Clifford Krueger
Clifford W. "Tiny" Krueger (June 24, 1918October 15, 1988) was an American politician, businessman, and circus performer from the U.S. state of Wisconsin. He served 34 years in the Wisconsin State Senate representing vast multi-county districts in the northern part of the state. Circus career Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Krueger graduated from high school in Merrill, Wisconsin. Krueger was in the Sheboygan-based Seils-Sterling Circus performing as the fat-boy weighing 425 pounds. Business and political career Krueger owned a tavern in Merrill, and served on the Merrill Common Council. He was also a member of the Lions Club, and the Farm Bureau. Dane is a village in Dane County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,117 at the 2020 census. Located in the Town of Dane, the village is part of the Madison Metropolitan Statistical Area. History A post office called Dane was first established in 1844. The village was named for Nathan Dane, author of the Northwest Ordinance. The village was incorporated in April 1899. The community's St. Michael Catholic Church was struck by lightning and burned down in 1974, but has since been rebuilt. Wisconsin Senate
The Wisconsin Senate is the upper house of the Wisconsin State Legislature. Together with the larger Wisconsin State Assembly they constitute the legislative branch of the state of Wisconsin. The powers of the Wisconsin Senate are modeled after those of the U.S. Senate. The Wisconsin Constitution ties the size of the State Senate to that of the Assembly, by limiting its size to no less than 1/4, nor more than 1/3, of the size of the Assembly. Currently, Wisconsin is divided into 33 Senate Districts (1/3 of the current Assembly membership of 99) apportioned throughout the state based on population as determined by the decennial census, for a total of 33 senators. The ''Wisconsin Blue Book'' is a biennial publication of the Wisconsin's Legislative Reference Bureau. The ''Blue Book'' is an almanac containing information on the government, economics, demographics, geography and history of the state of Wisconsin. It was published annually from 1879 to 1883, and then biennially since 1885 to the present day. It is currently published in the fall of every odd-numbered year, corresponding to the start of each new biennium of the Wisconsin state government. Since 1995, the ''Blue Book'' has been available free in electronic form. Many editions also provide a special article of substantial length, focusing on either a natural feature or some social aspect about the state.
