Carl Lange (architect)
Carl Christian Eduard Lange (5 December 1828 – 21 May 1900) was a Danish architect known primarily for his works on manors and churches in Jutland and several prominent buildings in Aarhus. Biography Carl Lange was born in Copenhagen to Christian Suhr Lange and Anne Sophie Torp. Initially he was trained as a watchmaker but the work did not interest him and he instead sought admission to the Danish Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts which was granted in 1841. He graduated from the academy in 1849 with a degree in architecture. Not much is known about the years after graduation but in the 1860s he is first mentioned as the foreman for the architect Ferdinand Meldahl during the construction of the manor Frijsenborg. In the period following his work at Frijsenborg, Carl Lange was commissioned as the architect in Favrskov Municipality for the manor Frijsendal and several farm buildings for the manor Søbygård. Viborg, Denmark
Viborg (), a city in central Jutland, Denmark, is the capital of both Viborg municipality and Region Midtjylland. Viborg is also the seat of the Western High Court, the Courts of Denmark, High Court for the Jutland peninsula. Viborg Municipality is the second-largest Denmark, Danish municipality, covering 3.3% of the country's total land area. Vilhelmsborg
Vilhelmsborg is the National Equestrian Centre of Denmark and a listed building in Aarhus Municipality. The main manor building was completed in 1842 and was listed by the Danish Heritage Agency on 3 March 1945. The manor lies 10 km. south of Aarhus, by Beder-Malling in Mårslet Parish, and is today owned by Aarhus Municipality along with 288 hectares of adjoining land. In the 19th century H. C. Andersen lived on the Vilhelmsborg estate on several occasions and some of his fairy tales are said to have been inspired by the view of Mols from his window. Johan Skjoldborg also frequented the estate and his novel ''Gyldholm'' depicts the hardships of farm hands by the end of the 19th century. Favrskov Municipality ( da, Favrskov Kommune, ) is a municipality in Central Denmark Region in Denmark north of Aarhus and is a part of the Aarhus area.
