Carl Hammerich
Carl Hammerich (25 April 1888 – 21 March 1945) was a Danish naval officer and Admiral. Hammerich was born in Aarhus, Denmark. He was the son of Louis Hammerich (1859–1931) and Eleonora Liisberg (1866–1961). In 1921, he was married to Borghild Hammerich. He started as a naval cadet in the Royal Danish Naval Academy during 1904 and was promoted to Second Lieutenant in 1908. In 1940, he was appointed to Rear Admiral. During World War II he participated in the Danish humanitarian aid to Norway, and was involved in the process leading to the White Buses operation. Hammerich was arrested by German officials and died when the Royal Air Force bombed the Gestapo building in Copenhagen on 21 March 1945 (Operation Carthage Operation Carthage, on 21 March 1945, was a British air raid on Copenhagen, Denmark during the Second World War which killed 145 civilians. Nils Johan Ringdal (6 March 1952 – 11 September 2008) was a Norwegian author and historian, known mostly for his works on Norwegian occupation history and Norwegian cultural history, and for his controversial book "''Nationaltheaterets Historie 1899-1999''" ''(The History of the National Theater 1899-1999)''. Royal Air Force
The Royal Air Force (RAF) is the United Kingdom's air and space force. It was formed towards the end of the First World War on 1 April 1918, becoming the first independent air force in the world, by regrouping the Royal Flying Corps (RFC) and the Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS). Øystein Sørensen
Øystein Sørensen (born 17 October 1954) is a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Oslo since 1996, he has published several books on the history of ideas, including Norwegian nationalism and national socialism, as well as general Norwegian World War II history.
