Selmas saga was the Sveriges Television's Christmas calendar for 2016. The knitted tuque worn by Selma Traskvist, the main character, in the series led to a temporary knitting boom. Tjuvarnas jul (The Thieves' Christmas) was the 2011 '' SVT Christmas calendar'' broadcast 1–24 December by Sveriges Television. The plot focuses on a thief named Kurre and his little daughter Charlie. It has a style reminiscent of Charles Dickens' stories. Plot The series is set in Stockholm during the 19th century. Kurre feeds entirely on stealing. He is involved in a gang of thieves led by the evil old woman Madame Bofvén. He lives alone in a loft, until a little girl named Ing-Britt (later renamed to Charlie by Madame Bofvén) who apparently is his daughter shows up outside his door. During the series they approach each other as father and daughter, while Madame Bofvén planning to rob the big department store and the police seek diligently after the thieves. ''Rederiet'' (''High Seas'' or ''The Shipping Company'') was a (318 episodes) Swedish soap opera that aired on Sveriges Television between August 1992 and April 2002. The cast featured many popular and renowned Swedish actors. The 45-minute episodes were broadcast weekly on Thursday nights on the public-service channel SVT1 and normally had between one and two million viewers. ''En komikers uppväxt'' is a 1992 novel by Swedish writer Jonas Gardell. Loosely based on his own upbringing, the novel portrays a boy, Juha, struggling with acceptance and belonging in suburban Stockholm. Juha is torn between loyalty to his old friends, the outcast kids Jenny and Thomas, and wanting to be one of the cool kids and get the popular girls. The novel was the basis of a 1992 Swedish TV miniseries in three parts, also called '' En komikers uppväxt''.
