Cariri Metro
Cariri Metro ( pt, Metrô do Cariri, though it is technically not a metro system; also known as pt, VLT do Cariri) is a , nine station diesel commuter rail line (sometimes referred to as a light rail (VLT) line) in the Cariri region of southern Ceará state, Brazil. It is operated by ''Companhia Cearense de Transportes Metropolitanos'', which also operates the Fortaleza Metro. It is expected to transport about 5,000 passengers per day. The line went into operation on an experimental basis on 1 December 2009, and went into regular service in 2010. This rail line connects the cities of Crato and Juazeiro do Norte together, and is operated with diesel light rail vehicles (LRVs). The initially estimated cost for implementation of this project was R$ 13,223,522; the cost that was later revised to R$ 25,190,720. Crato, Ceará
Crato is a city of 130,000 inhabitants on the banks of the river Granjeiro in the south of the state of Ceará, in the northeast of Brazil. It was founded on June 21, 1764 by the Capuchin friar Carlos Maria de Ferrara. Originally it was a small village in which the population were principally native Kariris, it gained official status as a city on October 17, 1817. The Brazilian city of Crato was named in honor to Crato, Portugal, Crato, a Portugal, Portuguese town which was founded in the 13th century. Teresina Metro
The Teresina Metro (Portuguese: ''Metrô de Teresina'', commonly called ''Metrô'', though it is technically not a metro system) in Teresina, the capital and largest city of the Brazilian state of Piauí, is a diesel commuter rail line operated by CMTP (Metropolitan Public Transport Company). It is long with a daily ridership of about 12,000. Diesel Engine
The diesel engine, named after Rudolf Diesel, is an internal combustion engine in which ignition of the fuel is caused by the elevated temperature of the air in the cylinder due to mechanical compression; thus, the diesel engine is a so-called compression-ignition engine (CI engine). Juazeiro Do Norte
Juazeiro do Norte is a city in the state of Ceará state in northeastern Brazil. It is located 491 km south of the state capital Fortaleza in the semiarid sertão. The municipality has a population of 276,264 (2020 official estimate) and covers 248 km².
