Cardinal Lemoine (Paris Métro)
Cardinal Lemoine () is a Metro station, station on Paris Métro Line 10, Line 10 of the Paris Métro. It is located the 5th arrondissement of Paris, 5th arrondissement. History The station was opened on 26 April 1931 with the transfer of the section of Line 10 between Maubert – Mutualité (Paris Métro), Maubert – Mutualité and Place Monge (Paris Métro), Place Monge to Paris Métro Line 7, Line 7. Line 10 was deviated from its old route east of Maubert – Mutualité to the new station of Jussieu (Paris Métro), Jussieu. Cardinal Lemoine was built at the southeastern end of the old route under Rue Monge. It is named after the Rue du Cardinal Lemoine, named after Cardinal Jean Lemoine (1250–1313), a papal legate of Pope Boniface VIII to Philip IV of France, Philip IV the Fair. The Paris Métro (french: Métro de Paris ; short for Métropolitain ) is a rapid transit system in the Paris metropolitan area, France. Cardinal Jean Lemoine
Jean Lemoine, Jean Le Moine, Johannes Monachus (1250, Crécy-en-Ponthieu – 22 August 1313, Avignon) was a French canon lawyer, Cardinal, bishop of Arras and papal legate. He served Boniface VIII as representative to Philip IV of France, and founded the Collège du Cardinal Lemoine, in Paris. He is the first canon lawyer to formulate the legal principle of the presumption of innocence. Early life He was awarded degrees in canon law and theology by the University of Paris. He then became a canon of the cathedral chapters at Amiens and then in Paris. A royal adviser, he travelled to Rome, and was made Auditor of the Rota in 1282. Between France and Rome Master Jean Le Moine was Dean of Bayeux Cathedral from 1288 to 1292. He was actually, during that period, not in Bayeux but at the Papal Curia, serving as Vice-Chancellor. Gare d'Austerlitz () is a station on the Paris Métro, serving line 5 and forming the eastern terminus of line 10 in the 5th and the 13th arrondissements. Pope Boniface VIII
Pope Boniface VIII ( la, Bonifatius PP. VIII; born Benedetto Caetani, c. 1230 – 11 October 1303) was the head of the Catholic Church and ruler of the Papal States from 24 December 1294 to his death in 1303. The MF 67 is a fleet of steel-wheel electric multiple unit trains for the Paris Métro. The first MF 67 trains entered service on Line 3 in June 1968, and became one of the biggest orders for the Métro, with 1,482 cars constructed. The need to replace the Sprague-Thomson fleet, as well as increasing costs associated with the later-cancelled plan to introduce rubber-tyred trains on all Métro lines, were the main factors for the size of the order.
