Cardiff HSOB RFC
Cardiff Quins Rugby Football Club is a Welsh rugby union club based in Cardiff in Wales. The club is a member of the Welsh Rugby Union and is a feeder club for the Cardiff Blues. Cardiff Quins RFC owe their creation from student pressure to play the game of rugby in Cardiff High School where football (soccer) had been the sport of choice. In 1921 a rugby game was played between the Old Boys and a school XV. They played for two seasons but were disbanded after the loss of their playing field. In 1928 the team was reformed when a new playing ground was made available, and it is this date that the team take as their founding year. WRU Division Four East
The Welsh Rugby Union Division Four East (also called the SWALEC Division Four East for sponsorship reasons) is a rugby union league in Wales. Competition There are 12 clubs in the WRU Division Four East. During the course of a season (which lasts from September to May) each club plays the others twice, once at their home ground and once at the Hpme ground of their opponents for a total of 22 games for each club, with a total of 132 games in each season. Teams receive four points for a win and two point for a draw, an additional bonus point is awarded to either team if they score four tries or more in a single match. No points are awarded for a loss though the losing team can gain a bonus point for finishing the match within seven points of the winning team. Cardiff Rugby ( cy, Rygbi Caerdydd) are one of the four professional Welsh rugby union teams. They compete in the United Rugby Championship and in European Professional Club Rugby competitions. Based in Cardiff, the team play at Cardiff Arms Park and are the professional arm of Cardiff Rugby Ltd. From 2003 to 2021 the first team was known as the Cardiff Blues before reverting to Cardiff Rugby prior to the start of the 2021-22 season. Cardiff Arms Park ( cy, Parc yr Arfau Caerdydd), also known as The Arms Park, is situated in the centre of Cardiff, Wales. It is primarily known as a rugby union stadium, but it also has a bowling green. The Arms Park was host to the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in 1958, and hosted four games in the 1991 Rugby World Cup, including the third-place play-off. The Arms Park also hosted the inaugural Heineken Cup Final of 1995–96 and the following year in 1996–97. Wendy Davis (rugby Player)
William Edward Norman Davis better known as Wendy Davis (7 September 1913 – c. 2002) was an international rugby union prop who represented Wales on three occasions and played club rugby for Cardiff. His international rugby career was curtailed by the outbreak of the Second World War but he continued to play as part of the British Army team. Personal history Davis was born in Birmingham, England, in 1913. He was educated at Camp Hill School for Boys in Birmingham, and then at Cardiff High School. He ran a tannery. With the outbreak of the Second World War Davis joined the British Army. The Who's Who of Welsh International Rugby Players states that Davis served in the Royal Artillery, but the London Gazette in 1940 lists him in the Royal Welch Fusiliers. John Wakeford
The Reverend John Wakeford (died 13 February 1930) was a Church of England clergyman who was convicted of adultery and deprived of his post as Archdeacon of Stow in a celebrated court case in 1921. Church career Wakeford was the son of an employee of Plymouth dockyard. He took holy orders in 1884 at Exeter, and subsequently obtained a Bachelor of Divinity degree at the University of Durham. He served as Vicar of St Margaret's, Anfield, Liverpool from 1893; this appointment was at first difficult as Wakeford came from the high church tradition which was not the tradition of the diocese."The Rev.
