Caravana de Campeones (2017) ( Spanish for "Caravan of Champions") was a major annual ''lucha libre'' event produced and scripted by Mexican ''Lucha Libre'', or professional wrestling promotion, International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG). The show was held on September 17, 2017in Arena Naucalpan, Naucalpan, State of Mexico, Mexico, IWRG's main arena. The 2017 version of the event was the tenth overall show IWRG has held under the '' Caravana de Campeones'' banner. As the name indicates the focal point of the show was the various championships promoted by IWRG as five of the six matches were for a championship. Arena Naucalpan
Arena Naucalpan is an indoor sports arena located in Naucalpan de Juárez, Mexico located on Calle Jardín 19, Naucalpan Centro. The arena is primarily used for professional wrestling, or ''lucha libre'', mainly shows promoted by International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) but has also hosted a number of other promotions since its creation in 1977. WWE Night Of Champions
WWE Night of Champions was a professional wrestling event produced by WWE, a Connecticut-based professional wrestling promotion. All nine events aired live and were broadcast on pay-per-view (PPV), while the final two events were also available to livestream on the WWE Network. The inaugural event took place on June 24, 2007, and was a crossover with Vengeance titled Vengeance: Night of Champions. In 2008, Vengeance was dropped in favor of Night of Champions and it took over the June PPV slot. The concept of Night of Champions was that every championship promoted on WWE's main roster from 2007 to 2015 was defended. The ''EMLL Carnaval de Campeones'' (Spanish for the "EMLL Carnival of Champions") was a major professional wrestling event produced by Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre (EMLL) that took place on January 13, 1965, in EMLL's home arena Arena México in Mexico City, Mexico. As the name indicated most of the matches on the show, five out of six, featured a champion defending their championship against a chosen challenger. IWRG Intercontinental Middleweight Championship
The IWRG Intercontinental Middleweight Championship (''Campeonato Intercontinental de Peso Medio IWRGL'' in Spanish) is a professional wrestling championship promoted by the Mexican wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG). The official definition of the Middleweight weight class in Mexico is between and , but the weight limits are not always strictly adhered to. Because Lucha Libre puts more emphasis on the lower weightclasses, this division is considered more important than the normally more prestigious heavyweight division of the promotion. The IWRG Rey del Ring (Spanish for "King of the Ring") refers both to an annual tournament and a professional wrestling championship promoted by the Mexican Lucha libre professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG). From 2002 until 2011 the IWRG ''Rey del Ring'' only referred to an annual 30-man tournament, but as of the 2011 tournament there is also a physical championship belt that is and can be defended throughout the year.
