John Willard Capron (February 14, 1797, at Uxbridge, Worcester County, Massachusetts – December 25, 1878, at Uxbridge) was an American military officer in the infantry, state legislator, and textile manufacturer. Famous for being a military uniforms manufacturer, he became Colonel in the army and Chairman of the Board of Selectmen. Mantonico bianco is a white Italian wine grape variety grown in the Calabria wine region of southern Italy. The grape should not be confused with the similarly named Calabrian grape Montonico bianco or with Guardavalle, which is known as Mantonico in the province of Cosenza in Calabria. Victor Capron
Dr. Victor James Capron Sr (August 25, 1868 - November 16, 1934) was a physician and politician in the state of Washington. He was born in Boonville, Oneida County, New York; a graduate of Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1888; a resident physician at St. Luke's Hospital in South Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; and a surgeon at the Norwegian Deaconess Home and Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. In 1893, he became government physician in Kau, Hawaii, where he was credited with containing a cholera epidemic. In 1898, he became the town doctor at Roche Harbor, Washington. Roger Capron
Roger Capron was born in Vincennes, France on September 4, 1922. Interested in drawing, he studied Applied Arts in Paris from 1939 to 1943 and worked as an art teacher in 1945. He died on November 8, 2006 leaving behind a considerable body of work that is recognized worldwide. In 1946, Roger Capron moved to Vallauris, where he founded a ceramics workshop known as 'l`Atelier Callis', contributing to the renaissance of ceramics in Vallauris. In 1952, Roger Capron purchased an abandoned pottery in Vallauris and opened a small ceramics factory, with 15 workers. By 1957 he had established a considerable international reputation. In 1980 his factory employed 120 people and during that same decade he reverted to making one-off pieces which were shown internationally. Hiram Capron (February 12, 1796 – September 10, 1872) was the founder of the town of Paris in Ontario, Canada, which was incorporated in 1849. An immigrant from the United States, he purchased large plots of land by the Grand River and Nith River which he settled and developed. Early life Capron was born and raised in the town of Leicester, Vermont in 1796 to a family of farmers. Upon reaching adulthood, he briefly worked as an instructor at a ladies' academy before moving to New York to work for an iron-founder named Theophilus Short. Short owned a number of iron blast furnaces in the area of Shortsville, and he employed Capron as a bookkeeper. Frederick William Capron (1 October 1860 – 18 January 1942) was an English first-class cricketer and solicitor. The son of Frederick Lucas Capron, he was born at Westminster in October 1860. He was educated at both Tonbridge School and Rugby School, before going up to Trinity College, Cambridge. While studying at Cambridge, Capron made two appearances in first-class cricket for the Marylebone Cricket Club against Hampshire at Lord's in 1881, and Cambridge University at Fenner's in 1882. He scored 13 runs in these two matches, with a highest score of 11. After graduating from Cambridge, Capron was admitted to practice as a solicitor in 1886.
