Capricorn Coast
The Capricorn Coast is a stretch of coastline in Central Queensland, Australia and is part of the Shire of Livingstone (formerly part of Rockhampton Region). Geography The Capricorn Coasts takes its name from Cape Capricorn () on Curtis Island, which in turn takes its name from the Tropic of Capricorn (approx ) which passes through roughly through the cape. The Tropic also passes through Capricorn Coast. The Capricorn Coast is officially defined as "the coastal area between the mouth of Water Park Creek and the mouth of the Fitzroy River", which establishes its boundaries as and , i.e. from Farnborough to Thompson Point. Rockhampton
Rockhampton is a city in the Rockhampton Region of Central Queensland, Australia. Shire Of Fitzroy
The Shire of Fitzroy was a local government area located in the Capricornia region of Central Queensland, Queensland, Australia, to the immediate west and south of the regional city of Rockhampton. The shire, administered from the town of Gracemere, covered an area of , and existed as a local government entity from 1899 until 2008, when it amalgamated with several other councils to become the Rockhampton Region. Joskeleigh is a coastal rural locality in the Livingstone Shire, Queensland, Australia. In the , Joskeleigh had a population of 70 people. Geography The waters of the ''Coral Sea'' form the eastern boundary. History Joskeleigh Provisional School opened on 28 October 1913 in a church building, pending the erection of a school building, under head teacher Frederick Vespermann. There was an average of 21 students in 1913. In 1918 it became Joskeleigh State School. It closed on 29 April 1985 due to falling enrolments. It was at 356 Joskeleigh Road (). Sandhills Post Office opened on 24 December 1923 (a receiving office had been open from 1898, named Fishergate until 1908) and closed in 1937. Emu Park
Emu Park is a coastal town and locality on the Capricorn Coast located south of Yeppoon in Queensland, Australia. It is within the local government area of Shire of Livingstone (between 2008 and 2013, it was within the Rockhampton Region). In the the locality of Emu Park had a population of 2,130 people. Kinka Beach is a coastal rural locality in the Livingstone Shire, Queensland, Australia. In the , Kinka Beach had a population of 621 people. Geography Kinka Beach is on the Capricorn Coast, situated on the banks of Kinka Creek, about north of Emu Park and south of Yeppoon. Causeway Lake, Queensland
Causeway Lake is a coastal locality on the Capricorn Coast in the Livingstone Shire, Queensland, Australia. In the , Causeway Lake had a population of 121 people. Geography The locality takes its name from the lake of the same name which lies within the locality, both of which take their name from the causeway (and smallbridge) which allows the Scenic Highway to cross the lake's narrow entrance to the Coral Sea. There is very little development within the locality except for a small residential area on the north-eastern shore of the lake where there is also public parkland access to the lake for recreation. Rosslyn is a coastal town and locality in the Livingstone Shire, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Rosslyn had a population of 574 people. Geography Historically, the town of Rosslyn developed along the beaches on either side of Statue Rock, a headland into the Coral Sea. However, when locality boundaries were formalised, Statue Rock was placed on the boundary of the locality of Lammermoor to the west and the locality of Rosslyn to the east. Lammermoor is a coastal locality on the Capricorn Coast in the Livingstone Shire, Queensland, Australia. In the , Lammermoor had a population of 2,167 people.
