Capitol Latin (formerly EMI Latin) is a brand of Universal Music Latin Entertainment, a division of Universal Music Group. Previously, it was a subsidiary of EMI. History In 1989, José Behar, the former head of CBS Discos, signed Selena to EMI Latin, because he thought he had discovered the next Gloria Estéfan. In 1990, EMI Latin acquired San Antonio, TX-based Cara Records in order to capitalize on the popularity of Tejano. Artists under the Cara label included Mazz, David Lee Garza, and La Mafia. Popular EMI Latin performers linked to the EMI Televisa Music and Televisa networks included Thalía, Pedro Fernández, RBD, María Daniela y su Sonido Lasser, and Kudai. María Daniela y su Sonido Lasser is a Mexican electronic group. It consists of the electronic guru Emilio Acevedo and the singer María Daniela Azpiazu. They are one of the most popular projects of the well-known Mexican electronic label Nuevos Ricos. Biography In 2007, Emilio Acevedo, already working in other electronic projects such as Titán, started Sonido Lasser Drakar. Exploring the sounds of dance music, he asked a friend, Maria Daniela, to join the group just for fun. María Nieves Rebolledo Vila, better known by her stage name Bebe (born 9 May 1978), is a Spanish singer, songwriter, and actress who rose to international fame with the singles "Malo" and "Ella". The Barrio Boyzz were an American Latin pop group. The group was made up of Puerto Ricans who grew up in New York City. They gained popularity during the 1990s, when they became label-mates with Selena Quintanilla then landed their first ''Billboard'' number-one song entitled "''Donde Quiera Que Estés''" (''Where Ever You Are'') in 1993, from the album of the same name. Babasónicos
Babasónicos is an Argentine rock band, formed in the early 1990s along with others such as Peligrosos Gorriones and Los Brujos. After emerging in the wave of Argentine New Rock bands of the late 1980s and early 1990s, Babasonicos became one of the banner groups of the "sonic" underground rock movement in Argentina in the late 1990s. The band name refers partly to Sai Baba, the Indian guru, and partly to ''The Jetsons'', whose Spanish version is called ''Los Supersónicos'' (The Supersonics). Amaral (band)
Amaral is a Spanish rock duo from Zaragoza, who have sold more than four million albums worldwide. The band consists of Eva Amaral (vocals) and Juan Aguirre (guitar), who write their songs together. Amaral and Aguirre met in 1992 in a bar in Zaragoza. She played drums in a local punk rock band called Bandera Blanca and also sang with Acid Rain. Aguirre was playing with a band called Días de Vino y Rosas at the time. Soon after they met, the two decided to play together and perform their own material. Álvaro Torres (born April 9, 1954) is a Salvadoran singer-songwriter. Biography Álvaro Torres was born on April 9, 1954 in Usulután, El Salvador.
