Capital City State Trail
The Capital City State Trail is a paved recreation trail in and around Madison, Wisconsin, with connections to the Military Ridge State Trail and the Badger State Trail. A segment of the trail goes through the Capital Springs State Recreation Area and a state trail pass is required to bicycle, skate or roller-ski this segment. The eastern end of the trail is at Nob Hill Rd in Madison (). The Military Ridge State Trail is a long, recreational rail trail in Wisconsin. It connects the following communities: * Dodgeville * Ridgeway * Barneveld * Blue Mounds * Mount Horeb * Riley * Klevenville * Verona * Fitchburg The western end of the trail is on just north of the intersection with King Street in Dodgeville (). Badger State Trail
The Badger State Trail is a rail trail in south central Wisconsin. The trail leads from the Wisconsin – Illinois state line to Madison passing through, from south to north, Monroe, Monticello, Belleville and Fitchburg. Near Monticello, the trail passes through the long, unlit Stewart Tunnel constructed in 1887. The trail was officially opened July 8, 2007. Capital Springs State Recreation Area is a state park unit of Wisconsin, United States, in development just south of Madison. The total area of the park is , with designated as a state park. The park was authorized in 2000, the centennial of the Wisconsin state park system. The park includes of undeveloped shoreline on Lake Waubesa. The recreation area incorporates existing Dane County parks, and the site will be jointly managed by the state and the county.
