The canton of Raspes et Lévezou is an administrative division of the Aveyron department, southern France. It was created at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Pont-de-Salars. Cantons Of France
The cantons of France are territorial subdivisions of the France, French Republic's Departments of France, departments and Arrondissements of France, arrondissements. Apart from their role as organizational units in relation to certain aspects of the administration of public services and justice, the chief purpose of the cantons today is to serve as Constituency, constituencies for the election of members of the representative assemblies established in each of France's territorial departments (Departmental council (France), departmental councils, formerly general councils). Vézins-de-Lévézou
Vézins-de-Lévézou (; Languedocien: ''Vesinh'') is a commune in the Aveyron department in southern France. The Château de Vézins is a historical castle. The first fortress was built in 1120 by Vésian de Vézins to command the Lévézou district. Following a disastrous fire in 1642, the only remains of this original castle are the vaulted rooms of the ground floor. The castle was redeveloped in the Renaissance style. Le Truel
Le Truel (; oc, Lo Truèlh) is a commune in the Aveyron department in southern France. The village was in the ancient province of Rouergue where they spoke in the ''rouergat'' patois of Occitan. Geography The commune is on the southern edge of the Massif Central. The hamlets to the north have commanding views of the Cevennes and the Millau Viaduct, which is to the west. The commune is approached along the D200 which connects it to the A75 autoroute. The D200 runs alongside the Tarn which has been dammed and provides the power for two hydro-electric generating plants, Jourdanie and Le Pouget. Economy The economy is rural and traditionally was based on the raising of sheep to produce milk for sheep cheeses such as Roquefort. The agriculture has diversified into the raising of veal calves. Barrage du Truel The Tarn has been dammed there and electricity is generated by two Kaplan turbines producing 27 KW.
