Canon EOS M5
The Canon EOS M5 is a digital mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera announced by Canon on September 15, 2016, and released in November 2016. As with all of the Canon EOS M series cameras, the M5 uses the Canon EF-M lens mount. With the EF-EOS M adapter, any other Canon EF lens mount or Canon EF-S lens mount lens can be used. The M5 is the first M series camera with an integrated electronic viewfinder. The screen is tiltable and can be articulated downwards, so that a vlogger can see themselves in the screen. Canon EOS M6
The Canon EOS M6 is a digital mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera announced by Canon on February 14, 2017, and released in April 2017. As with all of the Canon EOS M series cameras, the M6 uses the Canon EF-M lens mount. The camera's screen can be articulated upwards, so that a vlogger can see themselves in the screen. The camera lacks a built-in viewfinder which makes it considerably cheaper than the M5; an additional viewfinder for ca. 200 euro can be mounted on the camera via the flash shoe. For sound, the camera has a 3.5 mm microphone connection, but no headphone port. A new model was introduced in September 2019, the Canon EOS M6 Mark II. Electronic Viewfinder
An electronic viewfinder (EVF) is a camera viewfinder where the image captured by the lens is displayed on a small screen (usually LCD or OLED) which the photographer can look through when composing their shot. It differs from a live preview screen in being smaller and shaded from ambient light, and may also use less power. The sensor records the view through the lens, the view is processed, and finally projected on a miniature display which is viewable through the eyepiece. Digital viewfinders are used in digital still cameras and in video cameras. Some cameras (such as Panasonic, Sony, Fujifilm) have an automatic eye sensor which switches the display from screen to EVF when the viewfinder is near the eye. More modest cameras use a button to switch the display. Some have no button at all.
