Canadian University of Bangladesh is a private university in Bangladesh. This university is known as "Canadian University". The university is affiliated to the University Grants Commission. Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat is the chairperson of the board of trustees. HM Jahirul Haque is the vice-chancellor of the university. History Canadian University of Bangladesh was approved by the government of Bangladesh on 10 January 2016. It was founded by Chowdhury Nasir Sharafat, a Bangladeshi-Canadian businessman. The university started operations from June 2016. The university offers Sarafat Chowdhury Merit Scholarship to students based on their academic performance. Canadian University Alumni Association was formed on 28 May 2019 in Dhaka. In June 2019, Canadian University of Bangladesh signed a MOU with the Universiti Teknologi Petronas in Malaysia. University Grants Commission ( bn, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় মঞ্জুরী কমিশন ''Biśbobidyālaẏ mañjurī komiśan'') of Bangladesh was established on 16 December 1972. It was created according to the Presidential Order (P.O. No 10 of 1973) of the Government of People's Republic of Bangladesh. In 2010, the Government of Bangladesh (GOB) announced bringing out reforms in University Grants Commission (UGC) and decided to change UGC into Higher Education Commission of Bangladesh (HEC). The High Court Division, Supreme Court of Bangladesh ( bn, হাইকোর্ট ডিভিশন) popularly known as the 'High Court' is one of the two divisions of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, the other division being the Appellate Division. Purbachal Residential Model Town
Purbachal New Town Project or formerly Purbachal Residential Model Town is the biggest planned township in Bangladesh. The project area consists of about 6,227 acres (25 square kilometer) land located in between the Shitalakhya and the Balu River at Rupgonj thana of Narayanganj District and at Kaligonj Thana of Gazipur District, in the northeastern side of Dhaka. The Township will be linked with twelve-lane expressway from the Airport Road/Pragati swarani crossing. The distance is only 6.8 km.
