Canadian Premier League Golden Boot
The Canadian Premier League Golden Boot has been awarded since the inaugural 2019 season to the Canadian Premier League's leading scorer. The award is given to the player with the most goals in the regular season. Until 2021, the Golden Boot also included goals scored in the CPL playoffs and Finals. The trophy is an Inuit art carving by Pitseolak Qimirpik of Kinngait, Nunavut, depicting an Indigenous hunter. Pacific Football Club is a Canadian professional soccer club based in Greater Victoria, British Columbia. The club competes in the Canadian Premier League, playing home matches at Starlight Stadium located in Langford. History On May 5, 2018, "Port City FC" was one of four groups accepted by the Canadian Soccer Association for professional club membership, along with groups that would become Cavalry FC, HFX Wanderers, and York9. 2022 Canadian Premier League Season
The 2022 Canadian Premier League season is the fourth season of the Canadian Premier League, the top level of Canadian soccer. Pacific FC are the defending champions, having beaten Forge FC in the 2021 final. The regular season ran from April 7 to October 9, 2022. Each team played four games against each of the seven opponents for a total of 28 matches. Atlético Ottawa won the regular season championship on October 8, securing the club its first trophy. João Morelli Neto (born 11 March 1996) is a Brazilian former professional footballer who last played as a forward for HFX Wanderers FC. Early life Morelli was born and raised in the city of Itu, São Paulo state. The 2021 Canadian Premier League season was the third season of the Canadian Premier League, the top level of Canadian soccer. Forge FC were defending champions, after defeating HFX Wanderers FC in the 2020 final. The season was planned to commence on May 22, the Victoria Day weekend, pending the approval of government authorities and the state of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. However, on May 14, it was announced that the start was to be pushed back to mid-June or early July. On June 5, the league committed to a full 28-match season, but that the season would begin in a single-site bubble at IG Field in Winnipeg, Manitoba, promoted as "The Kickoff", with each team playing eight matches between June 26 and July 24.
