Canada is a country in North America. Calgary-Glenmore
Calgary-Glenmore, formally styled Calgary Glenmore from 1957 to 1971, is a provincial electoral district in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The district is mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. The electoral riding of Calgary Glenmore is one of two original Calgary ridings of the seven that still survives from the 1959 redistribution of the Calgary riding. This riding covers the mid-southwest portion of Calgary and contains the neighbourhoods of Bayview, Braeside, Cedarbrae, Chinook Park, Eagle Ridge, Glenmore Park, Kelvin Grove, Lakeview, Palliser, Pump Hill, Oakridge, Woodbine, and Woodlands. The riding is named after the Glenmore Reservoir. Antigonish (provincial Electoral District)
Antigonish is a provincial electoral district in Nova Scotia, Canada, that elects one member of the Nova Scotia House of Assembly. It has existed since 1867 and is one of only four Nova Scotian districts that has existed continuously since Canadian Confederation. The district includes the community of Antigonish and the surrounding Antigonish County. It is bordered by Pictou East to the west, Guysborough-Sheet Harbour to its south, the Strait of Canso to the east, and the Northumberland Strait to the north. 2009 Iqaluit Municipal Election
9 (nine) is the natural number following and preceding . Evolution of the Arabic digit In the beginning, various Indians wrote a digit 9 similar in shape to the modern closing question mark without the bottom dot. The Kshatrapa, Andhra and Gupta started curving the bottom vertical line coming up with a -look-alike. The Nagari continued the bottom stroke to make a circle and enclose the 3-look-alike, in much the same way that the sign @ encircles a lowercase ''a''. As time went on, the enclosing circle became bigger and its line continued beyond the circle downwards, as the 3-look-alike became smaller. Soon, all that was left of the 3-look-alike was a squiggle. The Arabs simply connected that squiggle to the downward stroke at the middle and subsequent European change was purely cosmetic. While the shape of the glyph for the digit 9 has an ascender in most modern typefaces, in typefaces with text figures the character usually has a descender, as, for example, in . T ... The 2009 leadership election for the Wildrose Alliance Party of Alberta began on June 6, 2009, when leader Paul Hinman officially announced his resignation as leader of the party. This was the third leadership convention for the party under its banners since 2002. Announcement In April 2009, Hinman announced his intention to resign at the party's annual general meeting, held June 6. Hinman remained as interim leader of the party until the selection of the next leader in October. 2009 New Democratic Party Of Manitoba Leadership Election
The New Democratic Party of Manitoba leadership election of 2009 was prompted by party leader Gary Doer's announced pending resignation. Doer announced on August 27, 2009, that he intended to resign as leader of the New Democratic Party of Manitoba and Premier of Manitoba and the next day he announced that he was to become the next Canadian Ambassador to the United States. A leadership convention was held on October 16–17 to choose the new leader. There were two candidates for the position: former Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, Steve Ashton and former Minister of Finance, Greg Selinger. Selinger received 65.75% of the ballots, and as such was elected party leader and became Premier-designate. Yukon New Democratic Party
The Yukon New Democratic Party (NDP; french: Nouveau Parti démocratique du Yukon) is a Social democracy, social-democratic List of political parties in Yukon, political party in the Yukon territory of Canada. Rousseau (electoral District)
Rousseau is a provincial electoral district in the Lanaudière and Laurentides regions of Quebec, Canada, that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It notably includes the municipalities of Saint-Lin–Laurentides and Sainte-Julienne. It was created for the 1981 election from parts of the Prévost, Joliette-Montcalm and L'Assomption electoral districts. In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, it gained Chertsey and Saint-Hippolyte from Bertrand, but lost L'Épiphanie (town), L'Épiphanie (parish), and the part of the city of L'Assomption that it formerly had to the L'Assomption electoral district. In the change from the 2011 to the 2017 electoral map, it will gain Saint-Jacques, Saint-Liguori and Sainte-Marie-Salomé from Joliette and will lose Chertsey and Rawdon to Bertrand and Sainte-Sophie and Saint-Hippolyte to the new riding of Prévost.
