6 Canadian Combat Support Brigade (French: ''6e Brigade d’appui au combat du Canada'') (6 CCSB) is a Canadian Forces combat support brigade that is part of 5th Canadian Division of the Canadian Army. It is spread out over different bases in Canada but the head quarter is based at CFB Kingston. Units Structure of the 6 CCSB History 6 CCSB was created on April 2018. Canadian Army
The Canadian Army (french: Armée canadienne) is the command responsible for the operational readiness of the conventional ground forces of the Canadian Armed Forces. It maintains regular forces units at bases across Canada, and is also responsible for the Army Reserve, the largest component of the Primary Reserve. 5th Canadian Division
The 5th Canadian Division is a formation of the Canadian Army responsible for the command and mobilization of most army units in the provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador; as well as some units in Kingston, Ontario. The division is recognized by the distinctive maroon patch worn on the sleeve of its soldiers. It was first created as a formation of the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the First World War. Canadian Forces Base Kingston (also CFB Kingston) is a Canadian Forces Base operated by the Canadian Army located in Kingston, Ontario. History The Barriefield Military Camp, commonly called Camp Barriefield, was established as a military base at the outbreak of the First World War in 1914 on the east bank of the Cataraqui River opposite the city of Kingston in the village of Barriefield. Located north of King's Highway 2, the name of the military base and village was in honour of the Royal Navy's Rear-Admiral Sir Robert Barrie who served during the War of 1812. In 1937 the base expanded to the south side of King's Highway 2 with the opening of the Vimy Barracks, named in honour of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. 4 Engineer Support Regiment (french: links=no, 4e Régiment d'appui du génie) is a regiment of the Canadian Military Engineers headquartered at CFB Gagetown, New Brunswick.
