Can Bartu
Can Bartu (31 January 1936 – 11 April 2019) was a Turkish basketball and football player of Circassian origin. He was the first Turkish footballer to play a final in Europe. His statue was erected in Istanbul. After retirement, he also worked as a pundit and sports journalist. Personal life Bartu was considered a "legendary" footballer, and was nicknamed the "Sinyor" (from Italian "Signor" for nobleman). After his retirement, he wrote columns long time for the daily ''Hürriyet''. Can Bartu died at the age of 83 on 11 April 2019. He was interred at the Karacaahmet Cemetery following a memorial ceremony held at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium, the home ground of Fenerbahçe S.K., and the religious funeral at the Marmara İlahiyat Mosque in Üsküdar. Ankara 19 Mayıs Stadium
The Ankara 19 Mayıs Stadium ( tr, Ankara 19 Mayıs Stadyumu) was the home venue of Ankara's Gençlerbirliği. It was built in 1930 and is part of the 19 Mayıs Sports Complex, which is located in the Ulus district. The stadium had a capacity of 19,209 (all-seater). Ankaraspor also used the stadium until they moved to their new venue in the Yenikent district. The stadium was named after the date May 19, 1919, when Mustafa Kemal Atatürk arrived at Samsun to start the Turkish War of Independence. Official ceremonies to celebrate the May 19th Youth and Sports Day were also held at the stadium. In August 2018, demolition of the stadium began in order to make way for a new stadium to be built on the site. The Süper Lig (, ''Super League''), officially known as Spor Toto Süper Lig for sponsorship reasons, is a Turkish professional league for association football clubs. It is the top-flight of the Turkish football league system and is run by the Turkish Football Federation. In the 2022–23 season, nineteen clubs compete, where a champion is decided and three clubs are promoted from, and relegated to the 1. Lig. The season runs from August to May, with each club playing 36 matches. Matches are played Friday through Monday. The competition was initially established in 1923. 1962 European Cup Winners' Cup Final
The 1962 European Cup Winners' Cup Final was a football match contested between Atlético Madrid of Spain and the defending champions ACF Fiorentina of Italy. The final at Hampden Park, Glasgow finished 1–1. Madrid won 3–0 in the replay at Neckarstadion in Stuttgart. The replay was staged almost four months after the playing of the original game at Hampden Park on the same day as the first leg of the preliminary-round games for the 1962–63 European Cup Winners' Cup campaign.
