The Eckerd Open is a defunct WTA Tour affiliated women's tennis tournament founded in 1953 as a combined men's and women's clay court tennis tournament called the Masters Invitational tournament in St Augustine, Florida. In 1954 that event moved to Jacksonville, Florida until 1959. In 1960 the event moved to St Petersburg. It remained at the former location until 1974. After the combined event the St. Petersburg Masters Invitational finished in 1970. The womens event continued under various brand names and various locations in the Tampa Bay Area until it was abolished in 1990. Jill Hetherington-Hultquist (born October 27, 1964) is a Canadian former professional tennis player. She played college tennis for the University of Florida, and was women's tennis head coach at the University of Washington until May 2014. College career Born in Brampton, Ontario, Hetherington attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, where she played for coach Andy Brandi's Florida Gators women's tennis team from 1984 to 1987. Patty Fendick (born March 31, 1965) is a former professional tennis player and the former women's tennis program head coach at University of Texas. Born in Sacramento, California, she played at the collegiate level at Stanford University, where the team won the NCAA team title three times. In 1987, she was named ITA Player of the Year, when on the Stanford tennis team she had a 57-match winning streak. She won two NCAA singles titles in 1986 and 1987. She won the Broderick Award (now the Honda Sports Award) as the nation's top collegiate tennis player in 1987. The WTA Auckland Open (currently sponsored by ASB Bank and called the ASB Classic) is a professional women's tennis tournament in Auckland, New Zealand. The tournament is played annually, in the first week of January, at the ASB Tennis Centre in the suburb of Parnell, just east of the Central Business District. It is an International level tournament in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) World Tour. The equivalent men's event, the ATP Auckland Open, is played in the following week, immediately ahead of the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, the Australian Open. Ronni Reis (sometimes spelled Ronnie Reis; also Ronni Reis-Bernstein) (born May 10, 1966) is an American former tennis player. Reis won three gold medals at the 1985 Maccabiah Games in Israel, the doubles bronze medal at the 1986 Goodwill Games, and the doubles gold medal at the 1987 Pan American Games. Reis played for the Miami Hurricanes at the University of Miami, where she won the NCAA doubles tournament in 1986 and was named the NCAA Senior Player of the Year in 1988. Lise Gregory (born 29 August 1963) is a South African former tennis player who played primarily doubles. She played left-handed. Her career-high doubles ranking in 1990 was no. 18. The Puerto Rico Open is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour that was first played in 2008. It is the only PGA Tour event ever held in Puerto Rico. The tournament is played at the Coco Beach Golf Course (previously Trump International Golf Club Puerto Rico) which was designed by Tom Kite. From its inception through 2015, it was played in early March as an alternate event to the WGC-Cadillac Championship, but in 2016 it moved to late March, opposite the WGC-Dell Match Play. All four rounds are broadcast on the Golf Channel. The winner of the Puerto Rico Open earns 300 FedEx Cup points and 24 OWGR points, compared to 550 FedEx Cup and 70-80 OWGR points for World Golf Championships.
