Camillus Archibong Etokudoh
Camillus Archibong Etokudoh (; born 1949), is a bishop of the Roman Catholic Church. He is the third Bishop of Port Harcourt, appointed by Pope Benedict XVI on 4 May 2009, to oversee the Diocese of Port Harcourt. Biography Born in Ikot Uko Etor in Essien Udim local government area of Akwa Ibom State, Archibong was ordained a priest on 2 July 1978. He has served as Titular Bishop of Capra (1988–1989), Auxiliary Bishop of Ikot Ekpene (1988–1989) and Bishop of Ikot Ekpene (1989–2009). The Bishop of Port Harcourt is the Ordinary of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Port Harcourt in the Ecclesiastical province of Calabar, Nigeria. The diocese covers an area of 21,850 km2 (8,440 square miles). The Episcopal see is in Port Harcourt where the bishop's seat (''cathedra'') is located at the Corpus Christi Cathedral, D-line. The current bishop is the Most Reverend Camillus Archibong Etokudoh, the third Bishop of Port Harcourt. Akwa Ibom State
Akwa Ibom State is a state in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria, bordered on the east by Cross River State, on the west by Rivers State and Abia State, and on the south by the Atlantic Ocean. The state takes its name from the Qua Iboe River which bisects the state before flowing into the Bight of Bonny. Akwa Ibom was split from Cross River State in 1987 with its capital Uyo and with 31 local government areas. Of the 36 states, Akwa Ibom is the 30th largest in area and fifteenth most populous with an estimated population of nearly 5.5 million as of 2016. Geographically, the state is divided between the Central African mangroves in the coastal far south and the Cross–Niger transition forests in the rest of the state. ''The Tide'' is a Nigerian daily newspaper. It is the most widely circulated newspaper published in Port Harcourt, Rivers State and one of Nigeria's major newspapers. Owned and funded by the state, ''The Tide'' began printing operations on 1 December 1971 and has a digital version. Fire On 20 July 2012, a fire broke out in ''The Tide''s main building, damaging significant portions of the establishment, including the General Manager's office, Credit Control Unit, Administration General office and Board Room. Although no injuries or deaths were reported, much of the company's equipment and staff documents were destroyed. According to a statement from the General Manager Mr. Celestine Ogolo, the fire started at around 2.00a.m and quickly took over the highest floor of the building where his office was stationed.
