Ferdinando Paer (1 June 1771 – 3 May 1839) was an Italian composer known for his operas. He was of Austrian descent and used the German spelling Pär in application for printing in Venice, and later in France the spelling Paër. Life He was born in Parma into a family of Austrian descent. He came from a musical family. His grandfather Michael Pär was a regimental band member from Peterwardein (today Petrovaradin, part of Novi Sad). Camilla Franks (born 15 March 1976) is an Australian fashion designer, known for her bright kaftan designs and resort-wear. Early life Born in Sydney, Franks' mother was a model who ended up as a fashion buyer, and her father was an architect. The family would take Summer holidays to Fraser Island where Franks and her brother would swim and catch lizards. Franks' younger brother Ben fell to his death at the age of 14 from the top of Watsons Bay's clifftops, leaving Franks grief stricken. Pouring herself into work to try and cope, she tried various careers such as events planning, advertising and then theatre acting. Creating costumes for some of her performances out of old saris and kimonos, her garments garnered praise and started Franks on a path into fashion design. MV ''Camilla D'' was a St Kitts and Nevis cargo vessel that has operated since 2003 in the waters of eastern and Arctic Canada. Before that, the ship was sailing under the Finnish flag as MS ''Camilla'', owned by Lundqvist Rederierna of Mariehamn, Åland Islands. The ship was built by Krögerwerft GmbH in Rendsburg, West Germany in 1982. As the ship operated out of Finnish and Baltic ports in winter mainly without icebreaker assistance, she has the highest Finnish-Swedish ice class of 1A Super. The vessel was beached May 28, 2022, at Alang, Alang, India for demolition. 2003 salvage On May 1, 2002, ''Camilla'' was laid up in the port of Mariehamn, Finland. ''Camilla'' is a spacecraft and mission concept proposed for NASA’s New Frontiers program. It would be a centaur exploration mission, particularly to minor planet 10199 Chariklo. It consists of a flyby craft (''Camilla''), and tungsten impactor (Halbred). Goals The goals of this mission would be to understand the formation of centaurs, find if shepherd moons exist around Chariklo, and study the nature of the asteroid's rings formation. Mission design The spacecraft would be launched in September 2026, using one gravity assist from Venus in February 2027 and Earth in December 2027 and 2029 to accelerate it out toward Jupiter. The Jupiter flyby in October 2031 will send it out of the ecliptic toward its Chariklo encounter in January 2039 before continuing to escape the Solar System. Giovanni Bononcini (or Buononcini) (18 July 1670 – 9 July 1747) (sometimes cited also as Giovanni Battista Bononcini) was an Italian Baroque composer, cellist, singer and teacher, one of a family of string players and composers. Valentino Fioravanti
Valentino Fioravanti (11 September 1764 – 16 June 1837) was a celebrated Italian composer of ''opera buffas''. Fioravanti was born in Rome. One of the best ''opera buffa'' composers between Domenico Cimarosa and Gioacchino Rossini, he was especially popular in Naples, and was the first in Italy to introduce spoken dialogue in the French manner in his works, sometimes using the Neapolitan dialect. His works included some 70 operas, the most famous being ''Le cantatrici villane'' from 1799. He died, aged 72, in Capua. His eldest son, Giuseppe Fioravanti, was a successful opera singer, and his younger son, Vincenzo Fioravanti (1799–1877), also became a celebrated opera buffa composer, writing 35 stage works. His grandsons, Valentino (1827–79) and Luigi (1829–87), had successful opera careers, both as basso buffos.
