Camden Collective
Camden Collective is a regeneration project located in the London Borough of Camden. History The project has been run by Camden Town Unlimited, the business improvement district for Camden Town since 2009. Camden Collective carries out projects including public art, co-working spaces, pop up shops, accelerator and business support courses. The project relies on grants and raising revenue to support its activities. Participants Notable businesses using the co-working spaces include SB.TV, Clime-it Brothers, Sudden Black and Stemettes. A Channel 4 documentary series, Bedroom to Boardroom that followed SB.TV was filmed in Camden Collective's co-working space. PayneShurvell, Amy Winehouse Foundation, Hospital Records and UK band Enter Shikari have previously used the Camden Collective pop up shops. London Borough Of Camden
The London Borough of Camden () is a London borough in Inner London. Camden Town Hall, on Euston Road, lies north of Charing Cross. The borough was established on 1 April 1965 from the area of the former boroughs of Hampstead, Holborn, and St Pancras—which together, prior to that date, had comprised part of the historic County of London. The cultural and commercial land uses in the south contrast with the bustling mixed-use districts such as Camden Town and Kentish Town in the centre and leafy residential areas around Hampstead Heath in the north. PayneShurvell
PayneShurvell is a contemporary art gallery based in William Road in Kings Cross, London. It shows the work of Andrew Curtis, Aidan McNeill, Wrik Mead, Margaret Harrison, Anka Dabrowska and other internationally-recognised artists. The policy of the gallery is to bridge the gap between an artist-run space and a commercial gallery, showcasing emerging UK and international artists and featuring work from all media. Many of the artists shown have international reputations but are little known in the United Kingdom. PayneShurvell is owned and run by artist and curator James Payne who has shown work at Transition Gallery and is also a writer for ''Garageland'' and ''Arty (magazine), Arty'' and a columnist for The Huffington Post and Joanne Shurvell who was previously head of communications for the Institute of Contemporary Arts. Euston railway station ( ; also known as London Euston) is a central London railway terminus in the London Borough of Camden, managed by Network Rail. It is the southern terminus of the West Coast Main Line, the UK's busiest inter-city railway. National Temperance Hospital
The National Temperance Hospital was a hospital in Hampstead Road, London, between Mornington Crescent and Warren Street. History The hospital opened as the London Temperance Hospital on 6 October 1873 by initiative of the National Temperance League, and was managed by a board of 12 teetotallers. Under its rules, the use of alcohol to treat patients was discouraged, but not outlawed: doctors could prescribe alcohol when they thought necessary for exceptional cases. In 1931, Chicago magnate Samuel Insull donated $160,000 to build a new extension, the "Insull Memorial wing" which was designed in the Art Deco style by architect William Binnie. It was renamed the National Temperance Hospital in 1932 and acquired the premises of the St Pancras Female Orphanage and Charity School, located on an adjacent site, in 1945. Camden High Street
The A400 road is an A road in London that runs from Charing Cross (near Trafalgar Square, in London's West End) to Archway in North London. It passes some of London's most famous landmarks. The Northern line ( Charing Cross and High Barnet branches) runs beneath the A400 between Charing Cross and Archway stations. Between Charing Cross and Euston Road ( Inner Ring Road), the road is in the London Congestion Charge zone. Enter Shikari (stylised as enter: shikari and occasionally as ΣΠΤΣ℞ SΗΦΚ∆℞Φ) are a British rock band formed in St Albans, Hertfordshire, England in 1999 by bassist Chris Batten, lead vocalist and keyboardist Rou Reynolds, and drummer Rob Rolfe. Hospital Records is a British independent record label based in South London. Primarily releasing drum and bass, the label was started in 1996 by Tony Colman (London Elektricity) and Chris Goss, and has grown in recent years to become one of the most well-known labels within UK dance music. Amy Winehouse Foundation
The Amy Winehouse Foundation is a registered charity in England and Wales (number 1143740), set up in memory of English singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse (1983–2011). After Amy Winehouse's untimely death, on 23 July 2011 from alcohol poisoning at the age of 27, the foundation was set up by Winehouse's family and launched on 14 September 2011 (which would have been Winehouse's 28th birthday). Regenerative design is a process-oriented whole systems approach to design. The term "regenerative" describes processes that restore, renew or revitalize their own sources of energy and materials. Stemettes is a social enterprise which encourages girls and young women aged 5–25 to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM).
