Hospital Records
Hospital Records is a British independent record label based in South London. Primarily releasing drum and bass, the label was started in 1996 by Tony Colman (London Elektricity) and Chris Goss, and has grown in recent years to become one of the most well-known labels within UK dance music. The label has been home to artists such as Blame, Danny Byrd, Camo & Krooked, Logistics, Nu:Tone, Metrik, Fred V & Grafix, High Contrast and S.P.Y but also releases tracks from across the DnB genre. In Forest Hill, South London, Hospital runs the publishing company Songs in the Key of Knife and their worldwide events brand Hospitality. Until the end of 2019, they also ran the more experimental label Med School Music. From 2009 to 2011 and 2014 to 2020, Hospital Records has won the Best Label title at the Drum & Bass Arena Awards. Stemming from a business started in 1988, Proper Music Distribution has grown to become the largest totally independent distributor in the UK, with annual sales of over £25million. It is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Proper Music Group Limited. In recent years it has been a frequent winner of coveted Music Week Awards. Forest Hill is a district of the London Borough of Lewisham in south London, south east London, England, on the South Circular Road, London, South Circular Road, which is home to the Horniman Museum. Will Keen (born 26 February 1994), known by his stage name Keeno, is a British record producer and DJ from Winchester, known for adding orchestral elements to drum and bass. His debut album, ''Life Cycle'', was released on 30 June 2014 through Hospital Records' imprint label Med School. It entered the UK Albums Chart at number 198, the UK Dance Chart at number 13 and the UK Indie Chart at number 34. Keeno has also received airplay on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra drum and bass shows. His song "Nocturne", released on 9 December 2013, was used as the title screen for the 2014 racing game Forza Horizon 2. Flava D
Danielle Gooding, professionally known as Flava D, is an English UK garage, grime and bassline DJ and music producer. She was previously signed to the Butterz record label and is now signed to Hospital Records . She is one third of the UK garage act TQD, alongside fellow producers Royal-T and DJ Q. Early life Gooding spent her childhood moving between Birmingham and Bournemouth and grew up listening to early popular UK garage releases such as DJ EZ's ''Pure Garage'' mix CDs, as well as local pirate radio stations. Whilst working in a record shop from the ages of 14 to 16, her boss, who was a DJ, encouraged her to start producing music on Ableton. Edward "Woody" Allen is a British record producer and singer-songwriter from Lincoln, England. He has released four studio albums, five singles and numerous remixes under the name Etherwood. Biography Edward discovered drum'n'bass during the late '90s but didn't release his first production until 2012. The first recording to bear his name was a Jakwob and Etherwood remix of Lana Del Rey's "Video Games"; he also played guitar as part of Jakwob's band. MC Dynamite
Dynamite MC (born Dominic Smith, 7 October 1973) is an English rapper and MC. He originally gained prominence in jungle/drum and bass, working with Roni Size & Reprazent, but has also released hip hop material. Career He started his MCing career on pirate radio station Crush FM, broadcasting in Gloucester, South West England during the early 1990s. He met Roni Size in 1994 and began MCing for the Full Cycle crew. When the Bristol collective formed the live band Reprazent, Dynamite shared vocal duties with singer, Onallee. Their debut album ''New Forms'' won the Mercury Music Prize in 1997. Dynamite's role was enhanced for Reprazent's second album, the hip-hop influenced ''In the Mode'' (2000).
