Cambridge High School (Georgia)
Cambridge High School is a public charter high school in Milton, Georgia and a school of the Fulton County School System. The 17th high school to open in the district and relieving Alpharetta High School and Milton High School, it opened in August 2012. History Cambridge High School first opened its doors for the 2012–13 school year. It opened to relieve overcrowding at Alpharetta High School and Milton High School. The letter C in the school's name is named for the Cogburn family, who previously owned the property the school sits on, the A and M are in honor of the students who moved over from Alpharetta and Milton High Schools, while the bridge part is named for a bridge on the school property. It was designed by CGLS Architects. Cambridge is a village in Dane (mostly) and Jefferson counties in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 1,638 at the 2020 census. Of this, 1,539 were in Dane County, and 99 were in Jefferson County. The Dane County portion of Cambridge is part of the Madison Metropolitan Statistical Area, while the Jefferson County portion is part of the Watertown– Fort Atkinson Micropolitan Statistical Area. History Settlement–1890 The settlement of Cambridge dates back to October 15, 1847, when the farmer Joseph Keyes filed plans with the Register of Deeds of Dane County. The first structure in the area was a dam on the northern part of Koshkonong Creek. By the late 1880s, Cambridge had grown into a community of about 700 people with shops, hotels, and a post office.
