Camarines Sur's 3rd Congressional District
Camarines Sur's 3rd congressional district is one of the five congressional districts of the Philippines in the province of Camarines Sur. It has been represented in the House of Representatives since 1987. The district consists of the provincial capital Pili, its largest city Naga, and adjacent municipalities of Bombon, Calabanga, Camaligan, Canaman, Magarao and Ocampo. It is currently represented in the 19th Congress by Gabriel Bordado of the Liberal Party (LP). Siruma
Siruma, officially the Municipality of Siruma ( bcl, Banwaan kan Siruma; tl, Bayan ng Siruma), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Camarines Sur, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 19,419 people. History Siruma belonged to several towns before it became an independent town of its own. Years back, the municipality of Siruma was under the jurisdiction of Quipayo, considered to be one of the oldest parishes in the Archdiocese of Nueva Caceres. Now, Quipayo is a barangay of Calabanga town. On October 19, 1846, a decree was implemented by Governor General Narciso Claveria which restructured the territorial domain of the province. Elections for the House of Representatives in the Philippines were held on May 11, 1987. This was the first legislative election since 1984, the first House of Representatives elections since 1969, and the first election since the People Power Revolution that overthrew president Ferdinand Marcos and brought Corazon Aquino to power after alleged election fraud by the former during the 1986 presidential election against the latter.
