Caloundra International
The Caloundra International is a tennis List of tennis tournaments, tournament held in Caloundra, Australia. In 2004 it was held in November as the Uncle Tobys Challenger in Caloundra, then as the Kia International in Caloundra from 2005 to 2006, and the Caloundra ATP Challenger in 2007. The tournament returned in February 2011 as the Elite Tennis International. Caloundra ( ) is a coastal town and the southernmost town in the Sunshine Coast Region in South East Queensland, Australia. Geography Caloundra is north of the Brisbane central business district. Caloundra is accessible from Landsborough railway station, 21 km away, and the Caloundra bus station. Bribie Island North is located across the Pumicestone Passage. Takahiro Terachi (born 8 July 1979) is a former professional tennis player from Japan. Tennis career Born in Tokyo, Terachi began competing professionally in 1998 and reached a career high singles ranking of 219 in the world, winning 17 ITF Futures titles. His best performance on the ATP Tour came at the 2001 Shanghai Open, where he won his way through to the quarter-finals, with wins over Cecil Mamiit and Michael Tebbutt. He made the Japan Open second round twice from six appearances, including 2005 when he defeated Philipp Kohlschreiber. Terachi appeared for Japan in four Davis Cup ties from 2002 to 2004. Robert Smeets (born 10 November 1985) is an Australian retired professional tennis player. Though born in the Netherlands, Smeets moved to Australia aged 12 and took residency. Personal life Smeets has two sisters, called Karin and Cheyenne. His mother is Jeannette and father, Joe. He lives in Brisbane. Nathan Healey (born 27 February 1980 in Gosford, New South Wales) is an Australian tennis player. Turning professional in 1998, Healey has won 3 doubles titles. In 2006, he earned a wildcard to the Australian Open, making the 3rd round, where he was defeated by Russian Nikolay Davydenko in four sets. Later that year, he made it to the 3rd qualifying round at Wimbledon, where he was soundly defeated by Robert Kendrick. As of 26 June 2006, Healey was 199th in the ATP rankings. Ivan Cerović (born 1 March 1982) is a former professional tennis player from Croatia. Biography Born in Slovenia, Cerovic is from the Croatian city of Rijeka. As a junior, he made it to number 31 in the world and reached the quarter-finals of the boys' singles at the 2000 US Open. He competed in his first ATP Tour tournament in Umag, the 2001 Croatia Open, appearing in the doubles with Marko Tkalec, for an opening round exit.
