Cally Air is a Nigerian airline owned by the Cross River State Government. History The airline commenced operations on 16 July 2021, when a Boeing 737 aircraft was welcomed on touchdown by Benedict Ayade, who boarded the aircraft for inspection and lauded the event as the realization of a dream that had started in 2017. Description Cally airstrip which is located in Cross River state. At the capital city calabar, and it is now named Magret Ekpo international airport calabar. According to report the airport have only one runway which has the orientation 3/21. Besides the airport road there is event center and also a zenith bank branch that's is not to far. Margaret Ekpo International Airport , also known as Calabar Airport, is an airport serving Calabar, the capital of the Cross River State in Nigeria. The airport is named after Margaret Ekpo, who was one of Nigeria's pioneering feminist and anticolonial activists. It was commissioned in 1983 by Alhaji Shehu Shagari, then president of Nigeria. Calabar (also referred to as Callabar, Calabari, Calbari and Kalabar) is the capital city of Cross River State, Nigeria. It was originally named Akwa Akpa, in the Efik language. Ayade Benedict Bengiuoshuye CON was born on the 2nd of March, 1968 and hails from Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State. He holds a B.Sc., LLB, BL, M.Sc., MBA, LLM and a Ph.D. He bagged his PhD at a tender age of 26 from the prestigious University of Ibadan and became a professor of science at the age of 36. His research works have won him several awards including a 6 million JPY from Japan for his contribution to Methano Genenesis and Global Warming (Ph.D. grant).
