Calgary Nose Hill (formerly Calgary—Nose Hill) is a federal electoral district in Alberta, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 1997. Geography It consists of the part of the City of Calgary clockwise within the following line: from the northern limit of the city along: Centre Street North, Harvest Hills Boulevard North, Beddington Trail NW, Deerfoot Trail, McKnight Boulevard, John Laurie Boulevard NW, Sarcee Trail, Stoney Trail, 14 Street north to the northern limit of the city. Wild Rose (electoral District)
Wild Rose was a federal electoral district in Alberta, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1988 to 2015. It had been considered a safe seat for the Conservative Party of Canada. Geography The district was located in the southwest part of Alberta, stretching from the British Columbia border to the outer northern suburbs of Calgary. Within the large riding were: the City of Airdrie, the towns of Olds, Didsbury, Cochrane, Canmore, Sundre, and Banff, the Municipal District of Bighorn No. 8, Mountain View County, Improvement District No. 9, and parts of Clearwater County and Rocky View County. Calgary North was a federal electoral district in Alberta, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1953 to 1997. This riding was created in 1952 from parts of the Bow River, Calgary West, and East Calgary ridings. The electoral district was abolished in 1996 when it was merged into Calgary—Nose Hill. The federal electoral redistribution of 2012 was a redistribution (election), redistribution of Electoral district (Canada), electoral districts ("ridings") in Canada following the results of the 2011 Canadian census. As a result of amendments to the Constitution Act, 1867, the number of Legislative seat, seats in the House of Commons of Canada increased from 308 to 338. The previous electoral redistribution was in 2003. Background and previous attempts at reform Prior to 2012, the redistribution rules for increasing the number of seats in the House of Commons of Canada was governed by section 51 of the ''Constitution Act, 1867'', as last amended in 1985.
