Calgary Curling Club
The Calgary Curling Club is a curling club located in Calgary, Alberta. History The Calgary Curling Club was founded in 1888 and opened its first rink in 1892. It then moved venues to Victoria Park in 1909, and moved from there to its current location in 1953. The club won the 2018 Travelers Curling Club Championship. Canadian Senior Curling Championships
The Canadian Senior Curling Championships are an annual bonspiel held to determine the national champions in senior curling for Canada. Seniors are defined as being people over the age of 50. The championship teams play at the World Senior Curling Championships the following year. The event's first committee was established in October 1964. Frank Sargent was an original member of the senior championship committee, and believed the event would attract former Brier competitors and give seniors a place to compete which had not existed. The inaugural Canadian Seniors Curling Championship was hosted in Port Arthur in March 1965. It used a minimum age of 55 for competitors, and had the Seagram Company The Seagram Company Ltd. Jennifer Sadleir (born Jennifer Vejprava on January 10, 1981 in Calgary, Alberta) is a Canadian curler. She previously played lead for Cheryl Bernard out of the Calgary Curling Club in Calgary. Curling career 1997–2010 Sadleir is a three time Alberta Junior Champion winning in 1998, 2000 and 2002. At the 2000 Canadian Juniors, playing as a second, her team finished the Canadian Junior Championship with a bronze medal. At the 2002 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, she would skip Alberta to a 7-5 round robin record, missing the playoffs. Bronwen Webster
Bronwen Webster (born Bronwen Saunders; August 2, 1978) is a Canadian curler from Alberta. Career Webster won her provincial junior championship earning her a right to represent Alberta at the 1998 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. Her team finished with a 5-7 record. After playing with Heather Rankin at the 2001 Olympic Trials, Webster would skip her own team again and play with Crystal Rumberg and participate in numerous Alberta Provincial Championships. Webster joined the Olympic bronze-medalist Shannon Kleibrink rink in 2006 as the second on the team. Webster won her first provincial title as a member of the Kleibrink team in 2008. Canadian Junior Curling Championships
The Canadian Junior Curling Championships is an annual curling tournament held to determine the best junior-level curling team in Canada. Junior level curlers must be under the age of 21 as of June 30 in the year prior to the tournament. The event began in 1950 as the National Schoolboys Championship, and all members of a team had to attend the same high school. Efforts to establish the event were led by Ken Watson, Maurice Smith and others. From 1950 to 1957, teams played for the Victor Sifton Trophy. Sifton's newspaper chain was the sponsor of the event during this time. From 1958 to 1975 the event was sponsored by Pepsi and was known as the Pepsi Schoolboys, becoming the Pepsi Juniors in 1976. At that time, the age limit of the event was adjusted to match the eligibility for the World Junior Curling Championships which began in 1975.
